A few minutes ago...bit of a triangle. What do you guys think? Could go back up to 1.38...but doesn't appear to have enough oomph.

Broke but didn't close...it keeps bouncing off and upward, but keeps getting pulled down again. Looks like it's ready to break for good any minute now.

Big Ben hinting discount rate hike, funds futures fall, still not much USD strength. Seems like crowded trade - going long eur at 1.3850.

Look further to the left. Trendline of the ascension broke. Even further to the left, the steeper trendline was broken. Now we've got a channel heading to the south. Question now is...will it hold?

EURO-DOLLAR: Noticeable that traders now seem to be brushing off the
drip-drip source reports coming out of Brussels, and now seem to be
waiting for an official statement of EU plans for Greece. Euro-dollar
trading steady around $1.3775.

Oh I know about that...I was referring to the current downtrend which is moving very slowly...just waiting for a decisive break.

EDIT - looks like it just happened!

Support turned resistance still holding at 1.3850, so too early to call an inflection. Still, Big Ben couldn't lift the dollar tells me its a crowded short trade.

Yep, Tokyo closed today - other Asia markets all up tho.

BRUSSELS (Dow Jones)--A summit of European Union leaders due to start Thursday morning was delayed due to harsh winter weather in Brussels.
The meeting is expected to dwell on Greece's debt problems, which have spooked financial markets and led to concerns about the euro.
The meeting, in a stately library in Brussels, was due to start at 0830 GMT, but has been delayed until 1100 GMT, according to the European Council, the forum where the EU's 27 national governments meet in Brussels.
While the summit is delayed, some EU leaders, including Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou, are expected to hold smaller meetings with a few of their EU peers.

It's would be a lot more crowded at 4150ish, if it got there, the only shorts left, are the die-hards

Man - I wish. Still got shorts running from December....I'm kicking myself now for not loading more than I did back then. Would be quite the loading zone. Though my target from the daily would be somewhere around 1.4000ish with resumption.

this just reeks coordinated action/announcements
little meetings in preparation for the big one
sls need to be tighter than usual today

EUR/AUD: The market has retraced sharply in early trade on Thursday, with the cross collapsing in a matter of hours all the way back to the 78.6% fib retrace off of the recent 1.5415-1.5955 move. However, any additional setbacks from here are seen limited, with our core bias favoring the formation of a major base at current levels, given the overextended longer-term cyclicals. As such, we are looking to take advantage of these sharp pullbacks in anticipation of the decline being very short-lived and potentially the last shot to establish a very compelling position so close to what could be a long-term low at 1.5415. POSITION: LONG @1.5525 FOR AN OPEN OBJECTIVE; STOP 1.5325. POSITION SIZE IS 3X TOTAL EQUITY.
