well i got 7.7100 then 7.7581.. but should go higher after...simple chart with no indis..

i got a little break.. gold may run now. then again maybe not..

good morning

no idea whats going to happen, my best guess would be Germany and France burbs and the market dives/jumps.
Technically we have lower highs and a higher low 1hr chart so no real trend to be seen, if I am "lucky" we see a little correction eg down move where I might exit my short its taking much to long for it to play out positive (DAX short) and also is about to touch my downwards tl which would either be hedging signal or exit.

I look at it this way.....when I first started trading, I'm sure that much of my losses - essentially the cost of my education - made their way into the Goldman coffers. These days, I'm just making withdrawals - with interest. They're looking to cover - or at the least not to look incredibly foolish.

Yeah I don't use indicators... Just Pivot's and every now and then a trend-line. Gonna try your advice about the Icy Hot also to see if it helps.

I have a question.

On Tuesday the market spiked about 140pips due to a rumour developing that Germany was going to assist Greece.

I am under the impression that the news wasnt being circulated through the mass media when the market took that 140pip spike??

If the news isnt widely spread to traders how is it possible for it to spike so much and what can be done to foresee such spikes in the future.

I wasnt trading that day but reading back on the forum it seemed that participants on here were caught with the their pants down as well which leads me to believe that it wasnt well known news........

Any suggestions??

You can't. The only thing you can do is have appropriate risk and stoplosses.....you can minimize this by being aware of scheduled news events, but the occasional unscheduled event will catch you by surprise. Rest assured that the big money gets the information way before retail traders do....such spikes are not caused by retail traders....those are the institutions, private and/or governmental. Except when Gator hits the buy or sell button, of course.

Gold should have a good break ,may be daily new tl before the up , 200ma above in H1, 3 tops .corresponding eu may to 1.37 again .

i think shorts are the flavor right now, but not sure HOW far it go, maybe 5 pips or 50

Even the scheduled ones if you fail to look!! Happened to me a few weeks ago. Reaction from the USD Fed Funds Rate opened a pending short I had on the USD/JPY, which caught me by surprise and led to a bitter loss. Needless to state I always check the calendar now before doing my set-ups.

i had 6640 as a predictive. if you allow a little slip.. it may still be too early.. not a good comfirmation thus far.

It really seems that in the next few hours EUR gonna continue suppressing the buck. But in the second part of the day the situation can completely change.

Wouldn't freak just yet if you're not overleveraged and have a stoploss. Alot of institutional transactions roll through at market open....many just for business purposes rather than speculation. I am always hesitant to open a position right before a market open for this reason.

I am taking a back seat for the moment. I want this Greece thing to be sorted out. the market seems to be all over the place.

Every now and again some unscheduled news comes out and it spikes.

Big news at 9h30 GMT.

Keep an eye out.

This whole experience has made me take a closer look at my money management and stop loss size.

I am only trading now based on S/R numbers with a SL of 15pips.

So far so good.

GBPJPY seems to be a lovely currency to trade again. Look at retracement after 180-200 pip movement. Retracements are much bigger too compared to EURUSD. SL 100pips. TP 30pips.
