Your broker cut the data during news to protect itself. Forex.com did the same thing on their data today. FXCM often does it on their MT4 platform, but not on their standard platform. Its just the bucket shops way of making sure the deck is stacked against us. Use you mind's eye and just imagine a long candle filling the gap.

Sonikers, the beauty of the SonicR is that you should see it coming down the street like a freight train. You should not often be caught off guard and be unable to get your orders in. If I miss a trade, it is because I was away from the computer or just not paying attention. This is why you should not try to trade 27 different pairs. Pick three, no more than four pairs, and watch them like a hawk.

I trader only the EU, GU, EJ, and UJ. Once in a while I'll venture to something else, but not usually. There is no need to spread yourself thin. You do not need to be in evry trade on every pair. If I am stopped out on this EJ, I will have made over 365 pips profit this week and I only traded two pairs - the GU and the EJ.

EDIT: I looked back at my trades, and I did have one EU trade that made me +11 pips, so I traded three pairs this week.

It is up to each individual Soniker to decide if he is going to trade SonicR or SonicMutation.

I choose SonicR. Just like you. Just like Basber. Just like Muhammad. Just like TAH. Just like Sonic himself.

I've been quietly following along here for the last couple of months, but we have too many new Sonikers here now and I could no longer keep my mouth shut. It is too easy to get confused by all the excess non-sonic mutations.

Second half stopped at +45, so total for the trade is +80 and + 45 for +125, divide that by two to get the whole trade total of +62.50 pips. Not bad for guy who wouldn't know a hammer if it hit me on the head or a pin bar if poked me in the eye, not too mention that I'm just too stupid to go snipe hunting on a 5 minute chart for four hour candlesticks.

I guess I just got lucky. The best part is that the better I get with focusing on the core concepts of SonicR, the luckier I sem to get!

I have no idea what a "hanging man" is. I trade S/R, highs and lows, higher highs and higher lows, lower lows and lower highs, and last, but not least, wave analysis.

You might want to give it a try yourself.

I was over at amazon.com and I saw a Raghee Horner book I wasn't familar with call the million dollar set up. I like to take a look at the reviews, and I saw that there was only one. Here is what this poor guy had to say:

I was looking forward to some useful training on how to trade the forex markets. Instead, it has only one idea, using 34 period exponential averages on the high, low, close of prices. THAT'S ALL. I figured this information was one of the introductory chapters, but it's the entire book. I cannot believe I paid $48 for it. I think Raghee has a lot to offer and gives a lot of her insight on her web site. I am shocked by this clear rip off.

Imagine that! She hands him the Sonic Dragon and he thinks he's been ripped off! Poor guy. Reminds me of something I posted yesterday;

What I see in the chart :
I do not see price make a low bellow the dragon.
I see a perfect entry based on a breakout of this rectangle/range/chop of 6 bars , and the lower side of the rectangle is the lower average of the dragon.
Want to learn ...

Hi guys,

This is my first attempt to use the Sonic R method, because my FXCM trading station doesn't support some of the indicators recommended in SonicT v3, I've only use CCI, EMA89 (close), EMA34 on close,high,low..

Last night I tried this on EUR/GBP pair, and I got burned badly. I was hoping you all can give me some pointer on where I went wrong

What happened was when I saw the dragon tunnel curving up (it was steep) and the candle bars above the dragon tunnel, I went long.. set it up for 20 pips TP and put my stop loss slightly below the dragon tunnel..

Unfortunately, the trade went to other way, and I got burned.. I'm still on demo account but can't help felt a bit sick seeing it going the otherway so drastically...

Was it because I read it incorrectly or was it just my bad luck? Looking at what happened afterwards, I think if I follow the same method (going short), I would've missed it again and probably got burned later on. Most likely I'm not reading the signals right, would love some pointers

Btw, could someone explain to me what price action trading is?

BC...First of all understand one thing.....LOSSES ARE A PART OF ANY TRADING SYSTEM

Your focus should not be on the fact that whether the trade won or lost, but rather on the fact that whether you did the correct analysis to enter the trade, did you manage ur SL well? Were your Tgts correctly placed and did you enter your trade after doing at least Wave Analysis and SR Analysis.

We often tend to do the feedback analysis only on the Loosing trades and dont care about the winners(who doesnt like money coming in?). But I would rather be happy to take a loss on a correct trade than take a win on a semi fluke/incorrect trade.

So, stop looking for a full proof no loss system and accept the loss as a part of the system and focus more on learning the system.

PS: Looking at your trade, it seems your entry was a little late and thus it was at least a BE trade. But I am no seasoned trader on Sonic and you should take my feedback only as an opinion.

Hi ag_fx,

I understand that losses is normal, I just would like to know whether my understanding of the SonicR system is correct or not..

I thought I've done my analysis of the wave correctly so that's why I would like to get some help from SonicR experts to see what I have done wrong.. is there a separate document on how to do the wave analysis? So far mine is only, if it slopes up/down on 40+ deg, that's a trend

Btw, what's Tgts?

I do agree that I enter the trade a bit late, that's why I didn't get my 20 pips (which I thought pretty modest expectation). I didn't enter the trade earlier because the dragon tunnel wasn't sloping enough so I thought it might be part of ranging movement... How can I detect it early enough and have some sort of confident that it won't come back (that's what whiplash it right?)..

Also, the SonicR v3 PDF doesn't explain to me about the money management side of it, where can I get that?

I think most of my problems boil down to how to spot a trend reversal, separate true movement from range movement, how to know that it's won't come back before reaching my TP and where to exit..

Advices/pointers are much appreciated...

Yes, I will enter late but I try to wait for a retrace. For example, if I miss a short entry, I will wait for the first retrace on the M15 and try to enter at a 23-50% bounce level. Unless, of course, TP1 was already hit. If a TP1 is hit, the trade is dead for me to enter late.

But if you are learning the SonicR, I would urge that you keep it simple, and if you miss an entry, just let it go and wait for the next. You need to build confidence in yourself and the system, and you will jeopardize your ability to build that confidence if you take a few late entries in a row that turn into losers. Give yourself, and SonicR, a fair chance.

Sure David, I do want to point out another quote of mine from our earlier exchange:

The rules are as I stated them, and as a new Soniker, I would suggest that you trade only those SonicR set-ups that comply with the rules.

In this case, according to my broker, the low of that first low bar was 130.97, and the lower band of the dragon at that bar was 130.98. So, I did indeed follow the rules as I said them to you. If your broker's data differs from mine, that is the nature of the bucket shop beast. We are all trading off slightly different data.

For what its worth, for the first 6 months that I traded SonicR, I would wait for a bar close below the dragon, followed by a rally to a lower high, and then trade the break of the low of the bar that closed below the dragon. In other words, I would not have traded this short because the first low bar did not close below the lower band of the dragon. If you go back to some of Sonic's first posts, which is when I started following along back in October of 2008, I think you will see that he was waiting for at least one bar to close below the dragon for shorts or above the dragon for longs before making an entry.

So, you may not see a low below the dragon, but I see it clearly, both on my platform as well as the screen capture as you reposted it. Here is another screen capture that shows the bar low at 130.97 and the 34ema of the low is 130.98.

Also, a reminder: we do not trade triangles, rectangles, polygons, or ellipses or any other high school geometry nightmare. You need to stop seeing rectangles and look at the arrows I drew. You need to see price for itself, which is to say you need to see price as a series of highs and lows, higher highs and higher lows, lower lows and lower highs. This is why candles do not matter. What matters is where price was and where price is and what you are going to do depending upon where price goes next. Where was the last high? Where was the last low? What do we do if price makes a higher high before it makes a lower low?

You see rectangles. I see waves.

Others see body parts and hand tools. I see waves.

Sonic sees Waves. Basber sees waves. Muhammad sees waves. Domas sees waves. I see waves.

Do you see what I am getting at?
