Yes, very true, we just made a lower high. in my last post I said up, because it is tilted that way HOWEVER, we have some interesting things happening. lower high. every rally does not hold. could this be a turning point?

A turning point? Possibly.

Personally I expect this sideways ranging stuff to continue for the rest of this year, and I will continue to be very selective when I trade

stop using gold.. its a luxury....gold will do what it does.. corelation is weaker today then at any other time.. it works sometimes and not others.. oil is in every fiber of the modern world... copper is also better then gold for true indication except storage is easier then oil.. but copper is last years oil.. regulators are watching oil this time unlike last years fox guarding hen house. copper is in the wild wild west. oil is closer to reality with less manipulation atm..

That cant be good.

The MT4 for my ECN account is lagging behind, really bad... several minutes now, but the connection looks just fine. Last post was the 00:18 bar and the clock on the Market Watch is frozen at 00:19:53.

On the other hand, the MT4 for IBFX demo is showing 14875 compared to the frozen 14868 on my live account... guess thats good

Ok, not sure what to do here... my MT4 clock is still frozen at 00:19:53 on my ECN account, but once I log into my non-ECN account with the same broker on the same MT4 its just fine. I took a screenshot of the journal, bar info and market watch for proof purposes. I thought the purpose of ECN was to avoid odd stuff like this.

Yes, I am concerned too about what he will say later on tonight, cause I read a news story in Bloomberg where he said that Bernanke's comments about the strong dollar was great news and that it needed to be said. So if I see a pop b/t now and then I will take some profit and come back later. He may just want to make some comments to bring down the EU a little bit.

Technically, what constitutes reversal of an up-trend to down-trend (i.e.at what stage)?:

1. A Lower High

2. A Lower High and then a Lower Low

3. A Lower High, a Lower Low and then again a Lower High

Che, the medium trend might not be up, but the long term trend is for sure still up. Look at the dailys,,,this same thing has been happening all along the uptrend at regular intervals....in fact, this is a minor retrace compared to some others and it resumed the uptrend. If you still need a chart, I will post one later, I am at work now.

The ecn prime broker is down unfortunately. If you have suffered a loss due to this, we will reimburse it when the servers are back up
I can only hope it goes down to 14700 now

nope.. gold is not used in industry much since silicone.. its value can go up and down with the wind. you got many 3rd world countries with a growing middle class. gold has been valued for since ancient times. im not betting against billions of people wanting to wear gold. if economy falls then maybe, but only cause you cant eat it. at that point a good rifle and you get a lot of gold for free.

yep , shorting gold is the most probable way to go.

for me gold (and all you guys here can laugh as much as you want) has a fair value way lower than 1000$ but this is when eur/usd is at a "fair" value at 1.40 ..

anyway shorted 1142.85 sl 1151 tp no tp ....will see... but below 1120 is a real achivable target

I know what you're saying. If, and only if, we get a daily candle open and close above 5062, will I agree that the uptrend has RESUMED.

It's coming up to 4 weeks now since that 5062 high, and the trend has been sideways since then.

Thanks, but there's no need to post a chart for my benefit, because I know where you're coming from. Be absolutely certain though, that the trend os the past 4 weeks is CLEARLY sideways.

Will the uptrend resume?......maybe.
Will a downtrend begin?........maybe.
Will this sideways pa continue a while longer?.......maybe.

You pay your money and you take your chances.....just be sure that if you go long, you doing it because *YOU* think it's the right move.....not just because a whole lot of "the trend is still up" echo's are resonating in the air.

In many asian countries, gold means sense of security.

I would never short "sense of security" that will always remain in high demand by billions of people. It also is an industry. It has only one longer term direction.
