Just kidding, my French friend, I've also had a frsutrating week in FX trading.

....Could have been a good one....made a lot of pips with gold....all gone 
I keep flipping between scalping and longer term - but the long whippy tails overnight - the gapping - makes long term (days) trading so risky because the s/l is so easily hit.
The only strategy for me if I am going for a longer term trade is to keep it small - it's still a nice profit if it works which means conversely its still a bit of a nasty loss if it doesn't
The only time it makes sense for me is if I risk a profit I have already made by moving the sl to be and closing my eyes until after it has made a whacking great profit or closed...

These trades went in and out of profit for 4 consecutive days. The question arises....
That is why I keep the positions small.(As you suggested) Going from $1200 in the red to $600 in the green, within a day. Sad.
Would'nt it be a better proposition to trade a full lot scalping 10 pips a shot? Less is more. Less time in the market, less risk, quicker results....

in mean time it is scalping mode.
then we have thanksgiving ... US is off most of that week .... so they may use it to push s&p up to 1150 to 1200 under low volume conditions ...
1st quarter next year I think is when the shit hits the fan
we could be in these ranging condition for another 4 to 8 weeks
.....can't be all gone.....
Phew lucky or what! 40 p's up on day. Think it's time to break open another bottle. I know some get 200... but I like my 40!
