A few good indicators I use for the London Rush are firstly how tight the Asian session has been, and also how early the Asian channel is broken, I find that if a positive break out happens at just after 6 am London local time, the stronger it is likely to be.

I use the 5 min for my entry, but look at the higher times to confirm no major barriers in the way, so on the 5 thats a break out and candle close, then next candle needs to move 5 points past the close of the previous for me to enter.

Good luck on the demo trading, it definately helps a lot, the main thing that you will notice when you progress to a live account is the massive psychological one, fear can be paralising at first, and money mannagement is essential.

Could this be a long term trend reversal, ie pound gaining some ground back from the dollar?

I would say today is up for $ and down for other pairs. But we will see.
Lets remain ~50min.

I say all data for GBP and EU will be bad in the next time too.

It will buddy, i am still waiting for 1.61 and of what i see now it has good possibility to make Eliot on 1h chart witch i think is mostly happening when there is no news activity. Usually market moves in waves when there is no news
