Sadly, it's not mechanical it's too subjective for that, no mechanical systems work.

Knowing what time to trade and what times to expect direction changes is key as it is for everyone trading.

And rarely considered / talked about.

M1 detail, speed + longer...

OK...I see where you're coming from: switching successively to faster SMAs...
but how do I determine when to switch and more importantly that it's not a fake to bounce back down to 600sma from up there...'cause I'd think something like that could easily whipsaw an account into smithereens within minutes...

If the market tanked to the 600sma, you'd need to see some S/R form and / or the market move back over the really short 12 Linear.

Losses happen, but that setup it'd be a tight 15SL area and I'd likely be holding for 50pips!!

A break under I wouldn't take as it can wipsaw, I'd wait for a short entry nearer the 55 when the directions established itself.

u know what would be interesting is if u took trades live and posted them in a journal...kinda like what i do here...that would be great to see and then u have the charts so people can observe and perhaps tweak yur system or u yourself

Just a bit of fun, what will this month's NFP # be??

I am going to be pessemistic and go with -306k

1148 GMT [Dow Jones] Fed's Fisher was more optimistic during Q&A after speech last night where he said economy was likely to see a period of prolonged lackluster growth and high unemployment. Non-voting Fisher said the economy risked deflation - not inflation - amid weak demand caused by rising unemployment as companies shed workers. The economy can be stewarded back to health, he said, by letting men and women "have the incentives, get the reward." Fisher cautioned the audience not to expect a turnaround in the jobs market anytime soon. He said the unemployment rate could "reach or go through" 10%. "I expect a very slow rate of growth going forward," said Fisher, as younger generations consume less and save more. "I expect people will look at consumption a lot differently...people are focused on what they need, not just what they want." (LS/DDR)

Alright...to sum it up:

M1 has the same weaknesses and strengths as any other T/Fs....its impact (negative or positive) is only faster, and more frequent....

NFP less than 30 mins. away!

Thats the only downside to M1 you trade alone pretty much, by the time anyone reads the post I've likely already closed it.

H4 is easy to discuss and talk about but thats about all it's good for.

Nope, M1's as near as you can get to trading whats happening currently, M15 or H4 you've added a lag so your always trading whats happened and there is no way to see the traders I'm after.
