Community Tick Database

Hi everyone,

I've been working for the past month or so on a communal tick database.

 

1. Set up a MySQL host
2. Found and implemented an EA to upload ticks into the database.

Now I'm stuck. I have 20 or so of the attached EAs on various pairs for one terminal, and I seem to successfully consistently crash that terminal. Can anyone provide some assistance/insight so I can get this project running fully?

(Twee, this could be another integration project for FF).

I have included a DLL file (libmysql.dll) For those who are concerned with their security, you can just as easily google the file and download it from wherever you please.

You dont seem to be doing that often in a day? is it? Some problem?

The crash tends to happen after about 30 mins of use

My guess is that there is something wrong with the reconnect function that I put into the code.

I managed to isolate the problem to too many simultaneous connections from one IP address. Seeing that that is the problem, how can I get these feeder EAs to write to a file, and then an uploading EA to push the ticks into the database at regular intervals?

Also, try modifying your ea so that it connects to mysql once and stores the resulting handle in a Global. Also try batching up your insert statements into one large one, maybe once every five minutes or so.
