i placed a short on 50 % fib with stop loss a bit above 1.4300...my target is 1.4180...lets see how it works....

Un-emp claims and GDP numbers came out pretty much as expected however slightly negative tone. Expect dollar to rally. I am short from .4255

Target 1.4200.

Even though the claims/gdp numbers took the market down here I think we see it continue on the upward trend at least for the next few hours. I got in long at the bottom of the 7:30 candle on the 5 minute chart and I'm looking at 15 pips or so.

I wondered the same thing, but they just made a good point on CNBC; when equities increase the dollar MAY begin to increase now because people will start pricing in the possible increases in interest rates that are made by the fed during a strong economy.

This is true olemiss. However, I dont believe we will see a shift back to pure fundamentalism until the fed has even hinted to raising interest rates. They have said that they will keep interest rates low until at least 2010. Therefore I still think that the dollar will trade as safe haven status until rates will be raised.

still with an open short at 1.4250, was hoping for some more excitement to trigger higher shorts at 1.43-1.435

Dealer chatter of quasi-gov't names offering Euros above the 1.4270 level
