You don't need to trade more than one pair. I know someone trading only EURJPY with fixed 30 pips SL and 40 pip TP. He has started trading this on June 1st, 2.5 months ago and his results are:

June : +264 pips
July : +448 pips
August : +78 pips

His win ratio is 54.5%. His initial capital was USD10,000. And as of today his account balance is USD33,101. So with only +790 pips in 2.5 months, his return is 231%.

You don't need more than one pair to trade.
You don't need thousands of dollars as an initial capital.
You don't need thousands of pips.

All you need is a proper money management. And if Vic's Ichi strategy continues to perform as it did recently, we can all perform like above, even much better.

Hi Peeps, I'd like to clarify how we should look at the higher time frames - in terms of analysis - I think this is essential in getting on the right side of trades...

If we say most of our entries will be on the 5 min charts...we never enter a trade when it is pushing against kumo S/R in that direction on the higher times frames (how high do we go?)...and only enter when it perceived there is room for price to move... - Then all the other rules about entry setup apply..?

What else..?

I wonder if we create a check list...?

Regarding the summary of 2.5 months trading taking 10k to 30k, I would like to know the leverage used and also the average position value taken as a percentage of capital in each trade.

Not to hijack Vic's thread. He outlines a continuation of the trend strategy while the use of the Kinjun lines = more of a cloud break strategy.
I altered the standard Ichimoku code to only print the Kinjun lines and then only change the value of Kinjun and the colour every time I attach the script to the chart. (6 times)
You can add the standard Ichimoku code as one of the 6 to have the cloud on the chart.

Try it in Excel:

with a $10.000 account, 30 pips SL, 3% risk, using 10 minilots (10$/pip) a trade, earning 100 pips/week, you can "transform" $10k into $33k within 13 weeks.

increase to 150pips/week, and it takes 9 weeks (and 7 weeks with a 4% risk)

forex game, the more you have, the less you can risk (best ones risk 0.5% of equity - but imagine the account size needed), the more you earn.

on a quick calculation it would appear the successful trader with nearly 300% return on investment in 2.5 months would have to have been trading at 1:400 leverage in $1000 lots?

If this is the case then having 10% of equity in one trade is a very high risk strategy considering there are often scenarios, especially post market sensitive announcements (which don't show up on Ichi analysis till after they drop) that prices will gap up to 60 pips which would blow straight past a 30pip SL.

Don't want to try and deflate this idea as anyone who's traded that successfully has done GREAT however I really need to understand the acctual numbers behind reaching this ROI before considering it prudent to trade that way?

don't want to take us too far off course but risk is relative to the individual. A trader in russia made 750K on a 35K account trading channels in a contest sponsered by my broker. He won a maserati. lol

Risks 5-6% of account balance each trade. Started with 1.6 standard lot which had USD497 SL for 30 pips loss. Then increasing/decreasing the trade size depending on the account balance. Currently trades 5.5 standard lot.

you can add as many Tenkan-sen lines (separate from Ichimoku Kinko) as you want , you can search for Tenkan sen.mq4 on forex factory's threads or on the web

I have been watching the trades and never witnessed such gaps. Takes 1 or 2 trades per day.

Important thing is to increase/decrease your trade size according to a certain/disciplined money management rules. Leverage is not important (it is how much money you should have in your account for 1 standard lot which has nothing to do with the money management I am talking about, because you are immediately decreasing your trade size if you start with successive losses), he risks 5-6% of account balance each trade.
