I am very new to Forex. In the past, I was trading Stock for while so I have a strategy for some pairs. I was using Wealth-lab for backtesting, but now to test on demo account, I need live data feed to Wealth-lab. I did try connecting using some real time data adaptor, but it is rather lengthy project than I was willing to go for. So I decided to give a try for MT4. I need to learn this from a scratch. If anybody can tell me there is never expireing demo account to learn MT4 with live data feed? I really appriciated. Sorry for my bad English.

If you've already installed MetaTrader, you can grab server files from various brokers. Here's a thread that explains how: http://www.forexfactory.com/forexfor...ead.php?t=5293. I think that only a few brokers have expiring demos. Try the metaquotes or moneytec server files.

Which one are you referring to?

You'll see in the thread that there are server files for a number of brokers. I'm not sure which one's do not expire. I have an FXDD demo that hasn't expired yet after several months.

Go with a demo on http://www.strategybuilderfx.com/ it does not expire, u don't have to wory about server setting changes, losing your history etc. You'll have time to learn about different servers etc. and things in the future.

Many use the MT4 platform for charting only, and use the Oanda platform for trading so open an Oanda also, it does not expire either. Oanda allows u to trade for .01 cents a pip or less so as a newbie its great, u don't have to lose all your money during the 'wow, this is exciting' phase of learning to trade.

Learn them both, when u have learned them and you are ready for an ECN, open a demo at COESfx (it expires in 30 days, but no prob w/ renewels). By this time you'll have some semblence of what you are doing and wont have to much problems w/ the learning curve.

Learn as much as you can on a demo and then go live.
Good Luck

In trading, there is no bullshit. You either make money or you don't.

I'm one of those newbies doing just that...do you know if the Oanda users use the Java or the Desktop mostly. I'm currently having trouble with both not loading...have tried on 3 different computers, and the O techs are currently trying to help.

Oanda's Platform uses Java, if you experience loading problems reinstall Java. Worked for me.
