DOW is not convincing - I have a small short on it

Now I don't post here much, because I don't think of myself as much of a good trader. I've been reading the forum since the beginning of the year and its helped out my trading a lot, but I really noticed a sense of hostility here in the past month or two! Whatever happened to traders helping traders??? Talking like this isn't helping anybody. Seconded. the nice thing about forex is that differences of opinion as to direction get settled by the market which allocates immediate fines and bonuses

Also I am not too happy about these secret ignore lists that groups of members are having fun with. It smacks of 13 year old girls in the schoolyard singling out victims to be secretly 'shunned'. Even worse, I might be on it !

So let's have fun and try make some dosh and we will be rewarded/punished in a 100% appropriate way by the market without any human intervention required

After 5 years of this stuff, I would never say someone was wrong as I might be proved wrong a few seconds later. Look at the chart at the time of the Madrid bombing - any longs were smashed to pieces - that's unpredictable and I always remember it when i dont have an s/l in place

Right on dude, there's no wright or wrong in this business as long as you make bucks, some trade longer and some shorter timeframes. Just cant stand nasty people.

The best thing in this forum is having fun and making pips as one said it before in a post. We are not at school. If all we succeed, there is no teacher to control that answers are the same for all. If the direction given by a member is right and confirmed, all of us can add money to his account without loosing for whom gave this advice. I'm sad when i heard that one hope to other bad things for his account.

why is everyone here so bearish on G/U? Beginning of month and end of last month i was bearish, but with fed statement saying that beginning aug 16th we will stop buying up so much of our own treasuries, makes me wonder what will hold dollar up. We have been buying our own trashy t-bills for so long, when all that $ stops flooding market, i think dollar will drop. retail sales number worse, claims came in worse. i dont know maybe im wrong, but i think G/U will be back above 1.70 shortly. anyone agree?

i dont know if any of you on here trade commodity options, i do it for part of my living and there is a pretty good straddle available for DEC Eurodollar. I went long and short even number of calls and puts at 99.25 with a lot of my clients. EX: buy 10 calls at 99.25 and 10 puts at 99.25. It has moved about 400 points north in last year. all you need to make 25-50% return is about 50 point move in either direction, its already gone about 15 points since i bought them all about 10 days ago. i think its a good low risk strategy for commodities, especially in this market, it wont matter where it goes and general market volatility/movement will make you profit. the only way you will lose is if it stays flat, probably no chance of that in nexty 5 months, options expire 12/14/09. good luck if any of you do it.

You might be totally right Bob, but isn't it sufficient satisfaction to see them lose their house and family and go hungry etc without pouring scorn and derision on them as well ? As has been said, you are not the only one who gets a bit like this from time to time, so it's more of a general comment... I am sure you have more skill than me, but a lucky amateur comes off better than an unlucky pro and luck tends to stick to people
So post your opinions and remind everyone when you are right and that will speak volumes and give you great satisfaction (as well as the money )

Bob....the thing about Malcomb is he posts his charts and analysis to say why he think cable is going to a certain point now instead of blowing his mortgage off and all sorts...Just post your controversy in the form of a chart to explain why cable would not got to 1.6100..

As far as your statment is concearned....
A lot of the traders trade here with similar amounts of money even the least expected...so I dont think you have anything to prove there..I hope your fortune grows but not on the back of someone blowing someone elses fortune...
