Gary covered one aspect of what we are doing, I will cover the next. The only difference is that we are going to need your help as we cannot do it all ourselves. Here is where we would like to start.

We will be including 3 different filters in the new EA, all of which we like very much. Personally I am going to trade them all because they have a very high success rate.

What we are thinking is that we will need nightly optimization. And since we don't know we thought that we would optimize the last two completed trading days and use these settings for the up coming day. As far as I know, this is new stuff. Most optimize for weeks, months, years at a time, but we would like to be more current.

To start with we are only looking to optimize GbpUsd on both the H1 and M30 TF's for all six entries (3 for each TF). That means that we need a few volunteers who are willing to do nightly optimizations. the more we have the less work it will be on everyone.

Don't worry if you have never optimized before. I will put together a booklet that explains in detail how it is done, and once you do it once, it will be one of the eaisest things in the world to do. 15M per night at 0000gmt time is all you will need to give us.

This way we are always using up to date information for the new day of trading. The more people we have optimizing, the more pairs we will be able to optimize.

Maybe later we will determine that once per week to optimize per pair is good enough, but for now we would like to start by optimizing the previous two days trading for settings to make for today. It is time to give back for all who want to make this work. Gary and I and others have done their job. It is time to that you pitch in and give us a hand.

We will wait to start the new thread until we have an adequate amount of volunteers, so now is your chance. I really don't think that you will be dissappointed. Please leave us your feedback and if you would like to be a participant in this. We want to here from you and won't move forward with the new version until we do.

Hey Richard,

You are welcome to trade on any platform that you want, but as you will read we are looking for optimizers and we would like that to be done with FXDD. We are also looking at MBTrading because they are looking to offer and ECN MT4 platform, however we do not know if this is ready yet, so right now we would like the optimizers to use the MT4 platform of FXDD, so you will need that platform as a demo. Where you trade is up to you.

Glad to have you on board. That is 1. Who else would like to help us with this?

Hi Richard -
Thanks for the feedback Its not that the ma filter was working, its the slope filters are working much better. When we get to them you'll also notice the periods used to calculate the slope is much smaller than the ma and track price better. More to come

I agree that the first three original filters can go...but i am not so sure about the 4th one, the MA. I can see where there will be problems with it in a sideways market where the 13 and 89 ma's are crossing back and forth but wouldn't we have the same problem with the slope filter? That being said you guys are the bosses and i am just following along and ready to do what ever you want me to do as far as testing...I am ok with a new name for the EA or trading system and new thread. Let's getter done.... Richard

Optimizing is really not that hard to do. Once you get it, then you will also have another Forex skill. I will put together a booklet on optimizing and if you can follow instructions, you will do just fine. We can even give you one of the easier pairs to optimize.

So, if you are willing to give it a shot, then we will help you get through it. Just make sure that you have a demo account with FXDD because that is the platform where we would like our optimizing done from.

I have actaully had pretty good success with MT4. Any mistakes I made were of my own doing. I am sure of that.


Although the inconsistency in back testing sucks....

What do you propose is better?

I hate the fact that MT4 goes out of its way to say that it is set up for manipulation!

I do realize though that a lot of brokers have to have fills basically on demand and I am certain that would explain part of the manipulation going on, but certainly not all of it.

I propose to use Ninja Trader as the mt4 bucketshops are robbing people blind. I have private ea's and I am moving them to work on Ninja Trader platform. For the people that stay on mt4, I wish you well.
