Hello Gary,

I will tell you this if you can make an ea for the VSA method then we will all be able to retire and move to Maui. The VSA method is the most profitable system I have ever seen. Once you get a handle on it you will see what I mean. I am still digesting it and once I do I will hire a programmer to make an ea for it if no one else does.

Regards,
Jeff

Thanks silverngold!

I have been reading VSA and, once I get a handle on it, will give it a try as a filter.......lots to read and understand. Welcome to the group.....we're hanging in and still working

Jeff,

1) Which version of it are you referring to? Nyse's or Malcolmb's or other? There's a half dozen variations out there all jammed into that same single threat that nyse started.

2) I couldn't agree with you more. Once I started looking at VSA, everything else looked like garbage to me. My eyes were opened wide.

3) PLEASE help Gary and I build an EA. We need all the help we can get. You would be a great addition with all your expertise.

4) Gary; any way to start a private forum (not on FF) just for VSA EA development only that is by invitation only and User ID/Password protected? I know there are free forums out there, I have one for my son's website regarding motocross racing.

If somebody help me,
I will appreciate.

Actually, I am looking for a trailing stop indicator that does not trail.
For example : after 50 pips it makes my position to BE.
After 100 pips profit , it moves my position to 50 pips profit locked.
Again and again , . . .

It means that it has to trail 50 pips by 50 pips .

Does anyone here have something like that ?

With Regards...

I think it would have to trail the first 50 after hitting 100 first and not 50 @ BE. The slightest fluctuation against you would stop you out and you'd miss the big ride up/down otherwise.

Love the handle, by the way. I had a friend once named Dracula but he only came around during Halloween - LOL!

Yes in some cases you are right ,

But that is not the point .

I need an indicator to set any amount that I want to trail like that.

I don't know of any first hand but if you don't get an answer or can't find it soon, ping Ronald Raygun or FOREXflash. They seem to have libraries of indi's and have probably coded this already.

Hi All -

Attached is ea version 3.5

The changes have to do with the hma filter, it is still a type of hma (and refered to as hma in the parameter settings) but the indie the ea now uses is the slope direction line provided by Damon - the new indie doesn't repaint (use the default settings). If you want to try it, be sure the HF (#5 in single filters) is set to 'true'. Both are attached

I forgot to note when I posted my results using the ma filter for today the following. Over the last 3 days of testing the ma filter, there has been 15 trades.......12 of them have been winners for a 80% win rate........be nice if that keeps up!

Gary,

Have you had a chance to backtest with the ma filter?

Jeff

Gary, I have the gmt offset at 2 on fxdd and I thought the ea figured it out, but I just had 2 GU trades hit.. It is 6 on fxdd, but the gmt code in the ea must not be working. I actually just let the ea determine and it opened trades, so i closed them, put the 2 on the offset... and still it opens again. Did I miss something from later posts?

Hi Gary The slope direction line indie has a default of 80 while the EA has a default of 8. I change the slope direction line to 8 on the chart and left the EA set at default of 8, is that correct??? Thanks again for keeping this going. Richard

hi Jeff

yes, I backtest it using GBPUSD for a month with a nice profit. More backtesting would be nice but I just wanted to make sure it was working.

Hi all -

The new version of the ea I posted earlier (post 1227 I think) looks a bit strange in the 'comments' in the upper left. I posted a test version of the ea........it works fine but the normal comments aren't there, just some info on hma values I used in testing. I edited the post 1227 so the non test version of the ea (the one I meant to post) is now there if you want to change it......

Hey Junior!

Didn't change anything with the gmt....what does the log say about what type of trades were taken? Were they both the same filter?

What you are looking for is a "Trailing Step" program. There may be one the "the swiss army knife" EA. You might find it if you do a search on the threads...it is not in this thread though, but it is around.

Gary, when we keep default for offset recognition (me at FXDD), the test read-out on the upper left chart does not reflect that (it says "GMT+0").

Is it however correct? Or should I manually add +2? (did FXDD stay +2 or go to +3 last Sunday)?!

*So* pleased you all are staying with this. And if you implement VSA also, whoa!
