This isnt a dumb question at all I dont know the answer as I rarely use trailing stops, id imagine they would be much more useful in calmer times like the asian session sometimes but cable is a beast and chops about all the time.

Maybe someone who uses trailing stops can give you a better answer

ok here my today trade i might be finished for the day i think, although im aiming for £50 per day, dunno yet. Finally managed to work out why vista doesnt save files correctly on this laptop. have to put it in the right place.

Pip is right..they are used for various sessions and time periods...choppy times is not a good idea...

But in calmer trades....If I first have a chance to place +BE and then move SL to 50% of range.....and if it starts to move in a rythmic pattern..then i will place TS in a nice big spread ~ 50 at first and remove TP limit..then getting closer to TP I drop it to 15 pips..and let her ride...

Not all my friend...but hedging for swings..that can occur..but it will drop..maybe not within the hour..but it will..good luck

Thanks, I was using 15 for some scalping. and the plain stop at other times to BE +5 I guess I am on the right track? lol

we can expect alot of movement for the next couple hours..but the aim is where you show it..

We will have a little testing down..then shoot right on up there..great chart..
