yeah it was mostly due to the "big name" buying that pushed the price up without meaningful retraces.Wasnt what Id call natural PA.

Thanks friend. I made the stupid mistake of changing to Eur/USD last week for some reason (after having traded Cable all of last year to great effect). Lesson: stick to what you know......

Cable will pay your enough that you don't need to worry about the other pairs.

That's one hell of a spread. I'd be looking for a new broker. My primary is a variable spread as well, but during volume times, it's around 3-4 pips. Sometimes .1 of a pip.

Too true. I didn't take to Eur/USD at all - it seemed to have a totally different feel and rhythm to Cable...possibly due to the specific market makers and big institutions involved, i dunno.....burnt my backside

I think there is a big problem with people who interpret random noise as signals and trends on small time frames. Randomness is randomness; not every 50 pip movement has a reason behind it; there is a lot of over analysis where people are trying to interpret meaning from mere randomness.

I made exactly the opposit... I change from EurUSd to GBPUSD and this pair is having excellent results with my strategy.....
