DislikedNEVER EVER hedge a position. take your lickens like a man and move on to your next trade. Ask our resident nAVIN2007 about hedging. He can give you a good low down on that issue.
Professional hedging involves two currencie pairs. NOT ONE.Ignored
Dislikedexample of when you would want to hedge... if you were short the cable from 6000 and you thought it was going down to 3600... at 4500 when you saw the retrace - go long and pick up 800 pips and then short again today.
another example... i went short today around 5100... then it turn around and went north (i just left it along and shorted again when it got higher); i could have went long with a hedge and let it move up 100 pips before shorting again...with very little loss on my short... when the market came back down, i would have collected all...Ignored
DislikedI can see what your saying. Like you said, it's a tool that if used improperly, will cost you dearly. I've never been a fan of hedging, but to each there own.
As to me doing this for a living, I do have a company as well outside of Forex. It just so happens that my trading does support me and my company when times are lean. So, I wouldn't say I'm a professional, just a day trader.
Thank you for the compliment though!Ignored
Dislikedyes, I can close part of my trade and leave the rest on the table. Do it all the time. As to hedging, read my prior post NEVER HEDGE. they don't allow it alsoIgnored
