yep, i also think the pair could stage a strong rally very soon, due to being so oversold. in the longer term, once risk appetite starts to return (prob Q2 2009), I think the dollar will resume it's long term depreciation against its trading partners, as funds flow out of the US into overseas investments.

personally, i don't think the BOE will step in for quite a while, unless sterling's decline becomes truly disorderly, as they got badly burnt the last time they stepped in and tried to fight the market in 1992, when Mr Soros literally beat the bank!
