you know I read a lil about the Yen carry. Maybe I should read more into it and its impact it has over other currencies like the GDP/USD.

Embarrased to say I have a LOT to learn.
I always look at what is going on across the board. When gu and eu are going down with uj going up, it is a dollar move.
But when you see all of them going down, then it is a carry... When move is dollar retated, EUR usually moves first and Cable follows with bigger volatility.
When it is yen related, Cable moves fast and Euro slower or doesnt move at all..
These are my observations only..
Actually its a great observation, as I was reading an article that observe what other currencies are doing that may affect another.
I'll take your observation and see if I can corralate the relationships between them.
When GDP & EU going down, while YEN us going up.
its a Dollar move? what does that mean? up or down?
When GDP, EUR and YEN all going down versus USD then its a carry? (carry due to asian news/events?)
When Yen related EUR moves slow versus USD or versus YEN?

Have in mind that GBPUSD and EURUSD going down, means USD being bought. So it makes sense that USDJPY have to go up for "USD being bought". Same for the opposite when USD is being sold.
But when the three of them are moving in the same direction, say down, it's like USD is being bought and sold at the same time, what doesn't make too much sense.
Then it is likely that JPY is being bought across the board, so GBP and EUR are being sold. When "Cable being sold" hit the market, it is likely that everybody is going to dump their GBP/whatever till dust settles
