Predicting which direction the price is going to go can inhibit ones ability to trade what they see. I do use trend lines and channels to play off of and try and see what type of action is going to occur, but I don't set my mind that she's going to go here and that's that and enter the trade with a hail mary (I've lost alot of money with this mindset!). I don't have a problem going short or long on cable, the setup just needs to be there. Yes the overall trend is down, just look at any chart. My 3 1/2 year old can tell me the direction of the trend.

Here's how my day of trading worked out.

Here's the 15m chart setup:

Orange Line: 10ema
Red Line: 35sma
Blue Line: 50sma

My entries are all upon the opening of the following candle that is circled. The only trade that is an exception on this chart is the last trade of the day for me where I played the bounce off the 10ema.

There were some very nice trades to be had today. I only made 80 pips today. It was Friday and my weekly goal was already met and she traded really tight today with some of the higher time frame MA's bouncing between them. Just look at your 4h Chart with the 10sma and 5sma overlayed.

I know brother! I feel the same way. Hell I had posted it during the prior US Session that I would be watching for a short there. My ass just fell asleep and I didn't have an order pending.

Yep towards the end of the week, lack of sleep sometimes gets to me too!!

My mind was made up that when she hit the 1h 62ema that she would fall back to the days low, so I felt fine holding it to the 1h 62 and adding to my short thinking I would just have more of a position. Back to the motto: Don't try and predict where price is going!
