Cable Update (GBPUSD)

Just closed 1600 tick above 9565 after a little spike at key support. key time in evolution of this move - if price can hold now 1600 more ticks we should begin the ascent back towards the devils pivot(one of Henry Carols favorite shorts).

sorry if i sound dumb but who exactly is henry carol? and why is he so important? thanx.

also if cable holds at around 1.9570 until the end of the hour, it looks as if there might be an upside for it.

From reading the past few weeks of thread Henrycarol is a really smart Bear, he usually takes short, where leugimp is usually talking bull... I mean he trades to the up side.
with all due respect they both are completly awsome teachers and fun to listen to.

And both of them make money trading opposite ways. Isn't forex something?

While Cable is been overall bearish since the 9913, Euro and Yen, therefore reflecting in the Dollar Index, have been ranging. Closed yesterday at 84,15 (support at 84,50). And is going deeper today.

Yesterday's (Wed) Cable move masked the fact that Dollar had broken out his ranging tunnel to the downside, pushed mostly by Euro and Yen valuation (Euro broken out 3140 -R turnned into S- and Yen got back below 120 today.

Today the bias was the same: dollar weaker, however today's excessive Cable-negative retail sales is helping to mask it again. Overall, cable is the only being squeezed to the downside.

I was watching pretty close at the dollar index to get aware of a possible break out, that happened today. Dollar is now at levels of Jan 03 and 04.

Both EUR and YEN are extremely overbought already and will need some air tomorrow, what could drag Cable down with them. But with a lousy PPI for tomorrow, they may have some room for further gains.

This is going to be all about where Cable will be prior to the news...

I'll be around for the fun, but depending on how London will act tomorrow, I'll stay out. Will just step in if London confirms Frankfurt tomorrow (clearing Fra open 30 pips away). And if we go down I'll stepp off the news.

Can someone please explain to me in short how to attach a chart on here that it shows up the same way as the text is showing up when we post that?

I have managed to attach a screenshot in a word doc so far which shows up on here as an attachement that you need to open. I am trying to avoid that.

A major US FX bank has produced technical analysis highlighting the significance of the 55-day m.a. (233.95) for [GBP/JPY]. According to the research, this line has held all corrections since April of last year, so any close below here (currently 233.29) would be viewed as extremely serious - particularly as model funds are said to have been significant drivers of Jpy weakness over the past few months, implying they will have some seriously large shorts to offload. The research adds that the 200 day m.a. (222.22) is the natural target should the 55-day give way. Given the short state of the market, a significant fall in this carry trade favourite is likely to have major repercussions in the other Jpy crosses.

I feel there will be a retarcement hopefully strong enough
when we see results on Philly Fed
