Here is where we stand with support & resistance:

There are two major bullish TL's one at 1.555 & another at 1.550

1.555 is as good as broken, 1550 can hold till DJI sentiment becomes clear and Oil Inv is released...

I would only go long if 1.550 holds after Oil Inv..otherwise...the train goes to the next station...1.543...scheduled to leave around 3.35pm...

Is anyone looking at this pair as it negatively correlates with EU/USD.

It broke out from a flag pattern on the hourly chart and the flagpole is approx. 100 pips.

You know, just like yesterday when someone posted that they pulled their stop and I think probably regreted, we all do that on occasions to regret it. I hadn't set a hard TP and was going to push the button and didn't, thought I could get a few more pips. My target was 1.5535. I settled for 10 Pips on 2 of three positions. Could have had 15.

Still have one position open.

IMO..do not "gamble" on forecasts...watch market reaction...wait for 2nd wave when market choosing final direction, then enter upon...better make less profitable pips..then loose a lot on a gamble...

This daily candle is much smaller than yesterday so far, so it might be slowly down ,and soon going up, i jsut bought on my practice account, cause I'm not completely confident in the trade

Market reaction will show you direction, see if there is a confirmed retrace or a false initial break out..then enter within market sentiment if news is a confirmation of it...takes time to train your self and react upon..better enter later and safe then early with risk and wrong...

It is a tricky thing. Usually for scalps I like to take profit at 10-12pips. But when you see it jump to 20 pips in your favour it is so tempting to want to just it go to see how far it continues.

I don't know what the right thing to do is.

I'm thinking that not being too greedy is a good policy. (it seems to be in in other aspects of life)

Funny thing about greed though is that things stuff up when you want more and more but if you just take a little bit at a time...then in the end it all adds up nicely.

I don't know...just some random thoughts

The likely reason is that ADP is so erratic (doesn't consistently predict NFP). And you might be right that it'd soon go north.

But in the meantime, Dow is 100 points up so far and oil is slightly down.

Hopefully it hits my TP first before it bounces up.

Drop came sooner than expected.
It broke the line, but didnt close the d1 candle beyond it yet, bear trap we'll see.
so lets go bears anyway it broke in on my h1 on the bottom as you can see.

Well, it's possible it will go down if the TL is broken, but not for certain. From my charts, on the weekly, used for 1 year, yes, but it's only respected the trend line 2 times, (this would be third), correct me if I'm wrong, but that's not the point. EUR/GBP TL was broken that was used for almost year, and still it's ranging. So anyway, I guess for me, I'm thinking there is a possibility of going lower, or a range, 'who really knows' we could range 1.53-1.59 for 1 year and people would completely forget that this used to be in an up trend. Personally, I'd like the EU to range in a nice range so i can trade it , without worrying what is going happen next, and yes I'd probably buy at 1.53, and also another pair I like is GBP/AUD it's been huge downtrend for a while, and not too long ago, the TL was broken, and it's not going up fast, it's still ranging, making a little way up, but not a major up trend, still easy trade and good range.. USD /CAD was in downtrend, and its' been ranging since January, but not sure about the TL on that one. Anyway, I think sometimes it's easier forget the past and the TL's that are so long-term (but not too ignore them), and just trade the ranges we see in past month or two.

Small jump to 1,5545 with some Swiss buyers...

We have seen solid move in favor of dollar just before unemployment report.

Same scenario, different way? Crude oil inventories unfavorable for dollar?

Theoretically that line was already broken when EUR hit 1.53 in June...shift it back and it makes you realize that 1.575 (22 July) was the key level to break for a strong downward move....

There are more ways then one to read trendlines..

Another boost for USD sentiment this morning:

WASHINGTON - President Bush on Wednesday signed a massive housing bill intended to provide mortgage relief for 400,000 struggling homeowners and stabilize financial markets.

Bush signed the bill without any fanfare or signing ceremony, affixing his signature to the measure he once threatened to veto, in the Oval Office in the early morning hours. He was surrounded by top administration officials, including Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson and Housing Secretary Steve Preston.

"We look forward to put in place new authorities to improve confidence and stability in markets," White House spokesman Tony Fratto said. He said that the Federal Housing Administration would begin right away to implement new policies "intended to keep more deserving American families in their homes."

The measure, regarded as the most significant housing legislation in decades, lets homeowners who cannot afford their payments refinance into more affordable government-backed loans rather than losing their homes.
