Really though, are there any 'names' who are big enough to swing cable ?

I suppose Soros with some big powerful allies managed it once but in normal times in a market that is not fixed ? (as it was by the BOE in those dark days). That would be a dangerous game....

Apparently doing that is not illegal as it would be with shares because the market is too big

But if it could be done, wouldn't it be 'rigged' every day ?

Matters not to us though as even if it is rigged, the direction of it's rigging is all that matters with a good s/l if they decide to unrig it

I'm short @ 9940 and I believe that the news will be worse than expected and we are in for a choppy 120+ pip drop by this time tomorrow...anyone else?

I know you dont trade during data time. However, how much fundamentals take part in your trading?

I don't place trades during data time, but I'm sometimes in one.

I try and not let the fundamentals affect my trades. When they fog my decision, I wait and enter at a later time to confirm my technicals are on. I get so passionate when I start comparing numbers and expectations. The economy in the US is in the sewer and I'm living it. I own a 10 year old company that is feeling the tightening economy. This provides me enough emotion that makes me not want to concern my trades based upon our countries numbers.

So, I try and look at the news as comical information that our countries use to compare who has the biggest "member".

Don't get me wrong, news can change the direction of a currency, but to what extent is held within the confines technically most of the time.

My analaysis on GBP/USD 8 hr chart shows me this price will go for short too.

I'll go long at .9920 retracement area as it broke 4h TF trend line. IMVHO If you look at daily TF it also formed an uptrend IB.

news always trow me off, especially when the pips goe against me, i panic, close my order and see it ride up again, while i'm looking at my loss..

I am flat because the daily closed bullish and the 4h looks bearish.... I will wait for a direction to be established. A buy opportunity may be at 9850 but price action will lead the way later on.... I shall wait...

Personally I will wait for the confirmation of the close of the current candle and the opening of the next. She will go back and test the low before she takes off.

I would prefer wait for next candle to open and enter my trade manually as I can see how the price is react. If I'm not confident with that set up I,ll stay aside and wait for another good entry.
