I'd agree that Gambling is one portion in trading, but to use it as a trading style or even habit, I don't think so... For us, chartist, there are chances where chart patterns repeating, and thus, analysis about that has been done and represented in numbers...
Furthermore, fundamental (news) will trigger the price movement so that "The initial value" or "The initial trigger" to the price movement happen...
I gambled a lot back there, and now, I'd keep it just as a portion in my trading if I confuse the way to pick the initial trigger... Otherwise, the trade I'm taking is not even worth traded (experience proved this statement, believe me...), staying out is my only option if that happen. Just like now, my order triggered @ 2.0075, and the market went up to 2.01 level and suddenly dropped to the initial point. I locked my profit @ 2.0085 when it happened, and my order once again hit, and I'm out right now. My target is actually 2.02 area which is the closing price at Friday. The trade was a disappointment, I'm not as good as Abuawad anyway...

DislikedI made a bit out of the long and I am happy with that. I switch styles and gambling is only one of them; but anyone in the market today is gambling whether they believe in the musings of some long dead Italian maths hobbyist or not.
Anyone who is in denial over the gambling element will have to admit it sooner or later. What is gambling but predicting mathematical outcomes anyway ?
It's only called 'trading' to absolve people with religious taboos. Were Bear Sterns trading or did they gamble ?
Doesn't matter as long as the weighted averages work out in the long runIgnored
