Hit my tight trailing stop, got 11 pips. Probably gonna continue down, but I won't enter again now. More money not earned is not money lost, nice pips to me

technically the trend is still lower ............. but exactly what it will do the rest of the week is the question. Will the technicals win out in the end of the day or fundamentals? IMO

I'm long at 492 (that 4 pip spread is FAT..) hedge at 472. Targeting 510-520 but will move with tight trailing stop.

House prices would then be further at risk, she added.

'The consequent adverse impact on growth could prove difficult to turn around quickly, potentially resulting in a protracted period of low output growth and below target inflation,' she said.

Barker said there are already 'clear signs' of a marked weakening in the commercial and residential property markets, which could become much worse if lenders' difficulties in borrowing on the wholesale market continue.

She also noted that it is more likely than not that CPI inflation will rise above 3 pct in the near-term - meaning BoE governor Mervyn King would have to write a letter of explanation to Chancellor of the Exchequer Alistair Darling.

However she added that 'not too much significance' should be attached to this, noting there is little monetary policy can do to stop the current uptick in pricing pressures caused by rising energy bills.

'The real concern is whether this renewed bout of inflation well above target could spark off a lasting rise in inflation expectations that posed a serious risk to keeping CPI inflation on target,' she said.

Concern about above-target inflation has not stopped the MPC cutting rates so far. Two weeks ago, the MPC cut its benchmark Bank Rate a quarter point for the second time in this easing cycle to 5.25 pct even though CPI inflation was above the 2.0 pct target and forecast to go even higher.

On a more optimistic note Barker noted that the recent fall in the value of sterling means that even if the domestic economy slows, exports should be supported, lending support to business investment.

The pair have been acting up today. right now -21 pips. The support level at 1.9475 is very strong and i dont think it will be broken again in this section. i think we found a bottom at 1.9475.

if you notice it look like we created a decending triangle with a very strong bottom at 1.9475

right now my order is as follows

entry: 1.9507
sl: 1.9450
tp:1.9600

I just entered a short i think theres a perfect head n shoulders pattern perfect retracements to 61.8 it could lead to sharp drop which is what im thinking...any idea see daily chart..

I like your style - not many people come clean like this and state their positions so clearly.

its 94.82 right now but it doesnt look like a bottom so I will stay out just a little longer before going long

I dont believe this 1.82 and 1.70 stuff while the UK has such stubborn inflation and house prices are not going to totally collapse like some parts of the US - I will use sl's at this point though !

Im planning to buy a house infact looking at the moment but im not sure whether house prices are going to drop by a significant amount...what advise would u give on this? ...sry to go off topic

just sold my house near Leeds (the nice part !)

I had to take a lot less than the peak of the market but I am happy with it - I am going to use the dosh to buy most of Florida if I can get 1.98 on the forex soon

As long as the uk jobs market is ok then I don't see house prices going down all that much more in most parts because there is no room in the uk and there is huge immigration.

Half the immigrants in the US are sleeping in their vans but uk has an open door policy with the EU so they are legals mostly

If jobs slip much then anything could happen - like the early 90's.

In 1996 I sold a nice five bed triple garage stone built house (built in 1725) and in the country - for £118k !!! it was awful then the market turned in 3 weeks

I would buy now but settle at no more than 85 to 90% of current asking

price - if they take less than that then its a dog or the neighbours are homicidal maniacs

I have sold all of my properties.
1. The investments bring more.
2. The mortgage is a lot more expensive then renting (counting in the years I am paying the interest, etc etc)
3. It is an illusion then you make money on the property that is actually the roof of your family. If you move then the house prices doesnt really matter really, if you move in the same size house. (Usually you need a bigger.) If you get a second mortgage to "cash in" the equity increase then really you just get in a bigger problem. The only time you can have a gain if you own 2+ number of properties and IF you have reliable tenants. etc etc etc.
I just stick with FX....from my cave...
