He knows that when US interest rates go down and also US jobs go down - the USD goes up !

it depends...actually ...sure ...there are rules that one should follow to be profitable...for ex. good money management

but when it comes to price behavior all rules are questionable ...no metter trend lines, fibos, data whatever....in fact anything can happen here

here is a free advice for you in rule:
money management not more than 5 ~ 10 %
targeting 25 ~ 50 pips per day.

if people followed the rules then u would have seen that actually what analysis of chart shows actually does happen

for example if any1 did a T.D trendline in daily chart and 4 hr..u would have noticed that this trendline never broke, we had a weekly pivot above and 55 ema acting as resistance....we could only go down and also monthly chart shows we are going downhill we bounced of 2.1100 area

im not sure if it always the case but so far i see....it really is all in the charts, it just comes down to knowledge.
What i would like to ask is: what % of result lies with technical and also fundamental analysis, which influences more?

closing the week.

shorting gu gave this week tons of pips even when got freaked out yesterday shorting at 1.9915. and i was the contrarian calling for the losses of gu all the hole last week. and did not dare to do it when the best opportunity arised.

whatever... it happens
as ameritrini hinted, work more on trading confidence.

I think from my previous remarks that fundamental analysis counts for NOTHING in the short term - in fact the market is mostly contrarian.

If a country slashes interest rates and has unexpected job losses and their currency goes up - you can throw away all fundamental economics books because that is not supposed to happen - or flip to chapter 2 and what happens is that a certain set of rules hold true to a certain point and then flip over once a boundary has been reached. In this case the news from the US is so scary that american repatriate money and the USD becomes a reserve currency in the economic turmoil that is expected.

Where to anticipate this flip point is difficult.

Of course the chartists will say that fundies don't matter and the ruan stones and the crows flying high and east told them this or that or the other.Half the chartists will stay quiet while the others parade their winnings and it looks like charts are always right...In truth, many are betting which way a fly will jump and 50% are always right and the first ones to post on here .

Many others posters are fantasists who either never took a position or it was on the virtual site. You can tell them as they pop out on Friday after the event and say they are going to buy another landcruiser or a peregrine falcon or something with all the money they made this week and every week

All in all its impossible for an inexperienced person to win at this as it is so counter - intuitive or contararian sometimes...

swing traders is what we are and when there is no constant swing we are at the mercy of random-seeming factors. Even if they are not random and are quite logical , their arrival is unpredictable.

Even if the UK slipped 5000 feet down into the Atlantic tomorrow, I would think a while before shorting GBP as it's never that simple...

basically a toss of a coin..i see your point!!!
thats why i never placed a trade there was no way of knowing which way it was going to swing but i had a hunch south was the way to go..
