many points to saying that for a 25bp cut, GU should be going down, but at the end of the day, US's still getting the cut isn't it? it have a possibility of going up also.. hmm..

A good tool that USUALLY works for me when it comes to a rate decision is watching the dow performence. Right now the dow is in minus territory which indicates that at least there is no big rate cut if there is any.

Bernanke has a duty to be upbeat - the worse it is, the more perky and 'on the other hand' he will sound

Every time Bernanke is upbeat, the markets whizz up for about 2 or 3 days and then get a reallity check

We want thrilling and not killing say the girls ...

We want stimulating and not spooking says the markets..

A big cut would scare the pants off everyone and reassure nobody

ok there will be movement but I am not expecting something huge

I will skip out of my long position soon just in case - and if it zooms up I will buy again on the pullback

Does anyone think the Fed Cut has strengthened the $? The fed has signaled that they are trying to prevent a recession (in other words we are already in one). What does that do for the currency?
