Guys enough of all this, we are learning and have made losses and then rebounce. let's keep the learning flowing. What do you guys think is the outlook for next week given the fundermentals coming out?

Thanks for the sanity Fman. Next couple weeks could be exciting if the same type of trading environment from January's past is any example. There has been extreme movements in January and sometimes the direction sets the tone for the year. Look back to 2005 and you will see the dollar gain strength, ask Warren Buffet how he fared selling the dollar. As I recall he lost billions selling the dollar as all his analysis was to short the dollar. Looking back it was a correction in an overall longer term uptrend. Could 2005 be repeated? Is the super cycle going to keep powering upward? Well that is what trading is all about. Seems cable bulls are locked into only one way of thinking and I would caution them as pro's and fund managers now seem to prefer to short the cable as Goldman has.

2008 will be exciting cause it seems the one way trade may be gone.

Well, very interesting the rally last Friday. Right now I see divergence signals with diference indicators.

I will be very careful with this movement to the long side. Probably small TP in the short time until this tendency reverse it DONW side like a rock again.

FWIW :

I see cable at 1.9650 by the middle of Jan and dollar yen at 110.90.

Just my thoughts and we will mark to market in mid Jan

When UK lower the interes rate, that will make a good drop for cable.

I dont agree with you there that GBP/USD will fall 1.9650.
GBP/USD will cross 2.000 after the new year..
It has the strength and pressure of Buying..

If USD/JPY would fall, Its an Indication for Dollar weakness, which shall corelate with GBP/USD to push high

Technically.. i see GBP/USD to slightly push higher..

EUR/USD will make CUP and Handle Formation...

USD/JPY has strength to continue push down towards 111.10

USD/JPY weakness is not a reflection of USD weakness ! Its a reflection largely to risk aversion.

Therefore its quite possible to see EUR/USD come down to 1.45 , cable to stay at 1.99 and dollar yen to come right down to 109.

USD/JPY is an interesting pair and is a bellwether of the market prepared to take risk - In the past the swissy was the currency which people would flee to in uncertainty - This still happens but USD/JPY normally takes a jump too

I dunno - I dont see 2.10 being a possibility anytime soon - I think we will see 1.90 first before 2.10

Still - time will tell and my assumptions are based on intuition!

not while the housing market in the U.K. is on the verge of collapsing like the U.S. housing market. Sorry, but its down till 1.9500, we are in the retrace now.

Going up for now, but too weak.
I'm out with profit because and waiting now to short it. Too many signals to the down side.
