Hey Lonespruce, just drove in today from Edmonton, AB.
Great Place to visit, would have been good to see in the spring time also.

Drove in from - as in you are there or were there? I live very close to Edmonton and I actually drive by each morning on the way to work. I'm the guy standing 60 feet in the air with the full body harness on, in the the rod basket of an oil/gas service rig.
Edmonton is a nice city - a little snow covered at the moment. You are right about the spring time!

Spent two weeks there near Sherwood Park area. Christmas with snow on the ground was great for a Californian.
Skiing at Rabbit was icy and fast, but the snow mobile on the lakes was a blast. Spent a few days at the mall area, never seen a 1/4 of it. Wonderful people, cars drive slow like a Sunday afternoon, and the Tim Horton coffee was great!
Rabbit Hill!!! HAHA. Good times have been had there many times by me and friends... but I would have recommended Marmot Basin - a few hours west by car in Jasper. From what I hear its the best snow it 10 years! Not to mention its likely about 1,000 time bigger than Rabbit Hill - actually - probably more like 10,000 times bigger.
The Mall is crazy. Need I say more
The people really are great. I've travelled a lot during university and I always enjoy coming home to the people... although there are some sizeable assholes on the rigs! Tim Hortons - a Canadian icon. Too bad the Wendy's corporation owns it now - not even Tim Hortons is Canadian anymore!Well Monarch - I'm glad you enjoyed my corner of the world! Some day I'd love to visit California - although I'm affraid I might melt! You're lucky you weren't here half way through November - it was negative 40 degrees celcius. [For you Farenheight people - that is also negative 40F]

I did so much play-by-play this week for trades/calls/direction that I'm trying to readjust to a more normal pace!!! Hyped!!! Wired!!! aaaarrrggghhh!!

I heard Jasper was the place, but to tell you the truth, I was tired of driving. 3 days cooped up in a car getting there, all I wanted was to stay local. We have some great skiing locations here in the mountains, but I was just glad to have a pair of skis on so close. Too bad for Timmy that he married Wendy, I think that hurt the business some. Employment is a major problem, I was thinking of sending my son up there, no problem getting a job there.
Building was crazy, I could not believe the growth. I think most of the other provinces will be desirous to move there the way it is growing.
