The funny thing is that, to get a massive carry unwinding, we need UJ going down along with the major, that is, USD up.

And, IN THIS PLANET, you can't find a single fool to buy dollars anymore

When a strong unwinding kicks in, majors go down with UJ, in an apparent "dollar paradox". USD up against Cable and Euro, and USD down against Yen. When you see stuff like that going on, make it sure you're at the ride side of the road.

When a pair makes a strong push like euro and cable have made, they tend to end the week at the extremes of the week.

Yepp, this is exactly what's so intriguing about what's going on right now(did you secretly read my trading room article thread? ;P) vs "how it used to be".

IMHO it's safest to either play the majors as if nothing happened or stick to USDJPY as the "real" core. If this time around stock market weakness = USD weakness along with it, you won't get exotics and majors to cause the drop / you will actually see them counteract and hence the crosses get fuzzy while USDJPY remains pretty "clean".

Well, to me at least. I know what I put my biggest focus on

Next week will be SO interesting.
