does anybody know how to change the time of day from gmt. to est. on the interbankfx platform charts???

I have posted 3 days earlier that I spoted usd/chf on the 38.6% retracement and asked if that looks like it's reversing, and if it does cable should go up.. I'm saying this move came out of no where.. yes, I was shorting it and wanting to catch few pips drop during the "V" from european open to london open. Did not expect it would take off running when there's no "NEWS", and i'll say this again.. YOU"RE LUCKY that YOU caught this..i'm not lashing at you.. and ur prove isn't worth crap. it's just saying it might happen, never stated when or where it would go.. I knew it would happen too.. but, i sure in hell did not know it would happen now.. so don't give me that crap. you held a Long position way before hand.. that just means you had a bigger stop and let it ran, not a professional trader to hold a position for a week and oh now you got out you think ur the best..

Is it valid to consider a breakout from this channel resuming uptrend?


Well my indicators say the pair is a long way from the support it needs from the 8/13 EMAs right now. About 50 pips away on the hourly and 60 on the four hour chart. I am looking for this gap to narrow in the next few hours, so I am waiting for a good retracement entry for about 25 pips.

After that I'll just have to let the pair tell me which way it is going.

Yeah... I'm dying here to place a short right now, but will wait a little more..

However, even if it retraces 100 pips today, it will still look like it has broken loose from the channel...

LONDON, Dec 19 (Reuters) - Sterling strengthened broadly on Tuesday after data showed UK house prices rose in November for a 13th straight month, helping to cement expectations of higher interest rates early next year.

The spectre of more M&A-related inflows surrounding the Swisscom's $3.5 billion debt-financed purchase of Vodafone's mobile stake helped to lift the pound to a 4-1/2 year high against the Swiss franc.

The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors said its house price balance eased in November to 47.4 from a revised 47.7 in October, but that was still well up on the long run average of 21. The sales-to-stock ratio rose to 42.5 percent, its highest in over two years. "The RICS survey points to a limited stock of housing in London and the South East, and the implication is for higher house prices and raised consumer confidence," said Neil Jones, head of hedge fund sales at Mizuho Corporate Bank.

"It all points to potential further increases in interest rates in early 2007," Jones said.





At 0935 GMT on Tuesday sterling was up 0.8 percent on the day against the dollar at $1.9634 <GBP=> and the euro was down 0.3 percent at 67.10 pence <EURGBP=>.

Jones at Mizuho and currency strategists at BNP Paribas reckon the pound should continue strengthening, reaching the psychological $2 barrier some time early next year.

As news of the Swisscom-Vodafone deal broke, sterling rose as high as 2.3944 Swiss francs <GBPCHF=R>, its highest since April 2002.

The pound benefited too from a broad rise in major European currencies after the Ifo economic research institute's December survey of German business confidence beat expectations.

Against a backdrop of relatively high interest rates and favourable merger and acquisition flows, sterling has risen across the board in recent weeks to multi-year highs against many major currencies, including a 6-1/2 year peak last Friday on a trade-weighted basis.

Sterling was up against a struggling yen after the Bank of Japan left interest rates on hold at 0.25 percent, as expected, and traders interpreted BOJ Governor Toshihiko Fukui's subsequent comments as a sign rates will not be raised in January.

Looks like a reversal pin might be forming on the hourly for the upside of things. Just have to wait and see i guess. By the way Im new to this thread and thought id start contributing because i think i understand the market now for the most part and am starting to trade consistently.

very wierd actually. The numbers are too good for US yet not a big move has come consedering the coming out of nowhere rally of the pair in the morning. But there definitely has to be a big down move otherwise the market is crazy and not moved by fundementals.

Agree with you - loss of opportunity is preferable to loss of capital- there will be a chance to trade another day when you can be more sure about what to do
