Actually, anyone wants to give me an opinion on the trade I just made - feel free to thrash me if you'd like, as long as I (and others) learn from it
I went long at 0386, while keeping my 2 shorts open (0490 and 0440).
No fibos or anything (although my 0/8 MM line is at 0386, but that's just a bonus, so I can say I did something TA-wise) - basically, at 0386, I locked in 50 pips total from my 0440 short (50+4 pip spread).
Now, if PMI+housing+whatever Forex wants to do make cable bearish, I can close both trades (0386 long and 0440 short) at any point and still bank 50 pips; if cable goes bullish, my short will get stopped out, and my long will be running free (with a SL of course, in case it turns again).
I know I've just limited my short profit on that one trade (still have that 'top' short though), but I will need to go to sleep at some point, and probably won't be around to see how housing comes out (been a crazy couple of weeks, getting ready to move to ME, and I'm still recovering from anaphylaxis, so I'm not anywhere near able to pull all nighters these days). This way, at least in my mind, I've set myself up for either scenario.
Any thoughts? Any of you pros want to chime in, even if to tell me it's the stupidest thing you've ever heard?
(ha, this is how tired I am: I just realized I locked either 50 pips on my 0440 short or 100 pips on my 0490 short - guess I'm seeing that 0490 as my 'special' short I don't want to close
)
