GBP/USD: The Calm Before the CPI Storm?
The British Pound is showing surprising resilience today, holding steady near 1.3430 despite the geopolitical firestorm in the Middle East. While the US Dollar remains the ultimate safe haven, the Greenback is losing some steam as traders digest last week’s disappointing jobs data and look ahead to tomorrow’s critical US Inflation (CPI) report.
Technically, we are seeing a "Consolidation Trap" around the 200-day EMA. If the bulls can push past the 1.3490 resistance, we might see a run toward 1.3600. However, with oil prices hovering near triple digits, any further escalation in the Strait of Hormuz could send the pair back to test the 1.3360 floor. Stay agile and watch those stops!
