It’s a massive day for the British Pound! As the Chancellor delivers the Spring Statement 2026 today, all eyes are on the OBR’s revised inflation and growth figures. With the GBP/USD already slipping toward 1.3350 due to geopolitical safe-haven flows into the US Dollar, the volatility is just getting started.

Technically, we are testing the 1.3340 structural support. A break below this could see a fast slide toward 1.3140, while a "growth-positive" surprise from Parliament could trigger a relief rally back to 1.3450. With Fed officials Williams and Kashkari speaking later today, expect the New York session to be just as wild.

The price will always look for reasons to move and this war is enough reason to strengthen the dollar after several months of weakness. The interesting part will now be that market will soak in this war and normalcy will return to prices. In the mean time, the gap will still have to close, this usually takes same day to 3 days for gap closure. Anticipate at least 1.3480 for GBPUSD and 1.1810 for EURUSD soon.
