Just a prediction, but I'd guess that Trump is shooting for pre-Brexit levels on the GBP (above 1.45), the EUR (above 1.36), and the JPY (around 120). That will propel the US economy and sink GB and Europe, but Japan will figure it out to thrive. That is not the plan, but the consequences of the plan. I know a few of you guys know this and are/will continue to enjoy the ride, but clearly a few do not.

Australian Trimmed Mean CPI quarterly 3.8% q/q (expected 3.6). This points to a rate hike in Feb, I'm therefore buying risk, I see AU pulling risk assets even higher.

Happy New Year Guys, the above posted last December is already playing out. Trump will weaken dollar in January only to strengthen Dollar till year end.

I expect a sell off from 1.40 to 1.3250 in the first quarter and then 1.22 by year end. Trade with caution as always.

My D1 pivot for the DXY is 97.800, which suggests that a further drop will see 95.00. Resistance comes in @ 97.05.

My risk targets for today:

EU> 1.21
AU> 0.7065

GBP/USD Hits a 4-Year High!
The British Pound is on fire today, smashing through the 1.3800 barrier to reach its highest level since September 2021! While the US Dollar is feeling the heat from trade tensions and uncertainty ahead of today’s FOMC meeting, the Sterling is capitalizing on the UK's resilient retail and PMI data.

The big question now: Can we hit 1.4000? If the Fed shows any sign of a dovish tilt or "caves" to political pressure today, the 1.4000 handle is the next stop. However, with the RSI currently in overbought territory (73+), expect some massive volatility during the New York session. Keep those stop-losses tight!

Today’s Strategy:
Resistance: 1.3869 & 1.3900
Support: 1.3720 & 1.3626

Sentiment: Strong Bullish – but watch for "Buy the rumor, sell the fact" after the Fed.
