Initial Jobless Claims is not really a market mover, but wiith Iran tension easing, and some Hot Claims numbers, risk will take that and run higher

The British pound get pounded against the US dollar, down about 0.5% today.
Prices haven’t yet dropped to the next important support levels — think of these as potential “bounce zones” if the selling slows down.

The BoE can meet and change rates multiple times between now and September (typically every six weeks).
The market forecast is just the sum of all the cuts traders think will happen in that period.
If investors believe interest rates will be cut soon, it makes holding British Pounds less attractive (you get less interest).
That expectation right now is part of why the pound is weakening today, even though the actual cuts may be months away.
Markets move on anticipation.

There are few who understand my vision, few who understand my way of thinking and few who do but just choose not to. As a long-term trader I will share my thinking here. Take it or throw it in the trash can. No skin off my back.
Gu has been trading in a range since 2016 on average between 1.400000 and 1.20000. Pathetic I know but it is a tradable range and something we have to accept as Cable traders. If we look at the midpoint it becomes obviously clear that 1.300000 is the midpoint, above bullish, below bearish. We are currently above 1.3 and retracing. It is no sweat to have a 100 or so pips on a single trade in drawdown but my overall unrealized profit matters. Below 1.3000 with a monthly close I will re consider my bullish bias. As long as 1.3 holds I look for a buy trades. Below i must re consider my bullish bias.

It is clear that 100 000 is a major pivot since 2015 and price currently below. If a monthly close above 100 000 I will reconsider my bullish bias on GU.
