GU, M30 support @ the SMA200

Remains in sell mode and price is currently bouncing inside a bearish structure. I view the bounce as a pullback unless GBPUSD can reclaim and close above the step resistance and breakdown band around 1.3495 to 1.3516. While capped below that area, the continuation sell stays valid with downside focus on the gray support near 1.3450 first, then the larger level near 1.33824 if support breaks. A clean H4 close above 1.3516 invalidates the continuation sell and opens room for a deeper retracement back toward 1.3538 to 1.3560. Near term moves on both pairs remain USD driven, so any strong USD bid can extend the downside legs, while USD weakness can accelerate these bounces. Because of that, I am using the step line zones as the main filter and only taking continuation trades when price is clearly holding below resistance or clearly reclaiming it.

The GBPUSD price was stopped from moving higher by the resistance level of 1.3485, which then bounced it lower. I'm considering selling from this level, targeting the support level of 1.3435.

Long @1.3475, target 1.3529.

Add the SMA200 to your H1 chart, and you'll see GU found support at that cluster of candles.

CPI Day is finally here, and the Pound is holding its ground! GBP/USD is currently hovering near 1.3470 as traders brace for the December US inflation report. With UK retail sales showing more resilience than expected, the "Cable" is testing the upper bounds of its current consolidation zone.
Technically, a clean break above 1.3500 could trigger a massive squeeze toward last week’s high of 1.3570. However, if US CPI comes in hotter than the 2.6% forecast, watch out for a retest of the 1.3400 floor. Stay sharp—volatility is about to spike!
