The GBPUSD price action on the daily time frame is sideways at the 1.34920 horizontal resistance area. The area is congruent to the 78.6 fib retracement area of the bearish swing traceable to May 2021 and technically susceptible to a southward turnaround. However, the immediate technical impulse is bullish, and we may still see further northward price action before a southward rotation.

I may be wrong. Trade safe and prosper.

Seems like Cable is in a sideways market. Looks like it may be in an expanding range also known as an expanding flat correction in Elliott Wave terminology. Probability is that Bulls may try to take out the highs of 1.3450 area to target 1.3470-ish. Then Bears may take control once more to take out the lows of 1.3300 zone and target 1.3260 area. Still sticking to the plan from last week, The Bulls pushed price higher than my target mentioned last week of 1.3470-ish to 1.3530. There is a likelihood that the Bears may cause price to decline to take out the lows of 1,3300 area and target 1.3260 zone.

As the final trading week of 2025 begins today, Monday, December 29, 2025, the GBP/USD pair is showing some consolidation. After a strong rally leading up to Christmas, the pair is currently softening slightly below the 1.3500 psychological handle, trading near 1.3485 during the European session.

The technical outlook remains bullish as long as the price stays above the key 100-day EMA, but thin year-end liquidity is leading to some "choppy" movement.

The "Santa Rally" is taking a breather as we enter the final countdown to 2026! GBP/USD has dipped slightly below the 1.3500 level today, currently hovering around 1.3485. While we’re seeing some renewed strength in the US Dollar, the broader trend for the Pound remains positive.

Traders are largely in "wait-and-see" mode ahead of tomorrow's FOMC meeting minutes, which could give us a clearer picture of the Fed's rate-cut path for the new year. With low holiday volume, remember that small orders can cause outsized moves—keep those stop-losses tight!

Trading Tips:

Upside Target: Watch for a reclaim of 1.3500; if successful, the next barrier is at 1.3547.

Support Levels: Initial support is seen at 1.3393, with a stronger floor near the 1.3350 zone.

Pro Tip: Low liquidity means wider spreads. Avoid aggressive entries until the London or New York opens.
