The USDJPY price action on the daily time frame went sideways on Friday after the bullish retest of the 153.980 horizontal resistance. We may see a southward dip of price action before further northward drive of price action.

I may be wrong. Trade safe and prosper.

What is everyone's approach the JPY bank holidays like today? Do you typically trade it? Also interested to know how long you intend to hold the trades; eg, no longer than one Asian/NY/LND session or longer.

I imagine for longer holders you're happy to trade a JPY bank holiday if the your setup arises? For me (only hold < 1 Asian session, aim to get in and out < 4 hours) I think I need to be careful if my setups show on a bank holiday. Looking at the most recent holidays; 13/10, 23/9, 15/9 they all seem to be range/low movement days.

Hi, Sqzr. I think we’ll either see price range until the ISM Manufacturing PMI on Monday, or price will take off one way or the other starting with the London session.

Yes, you’re right — the last three JPY holidays had low volatility throughout the whole trading day, but it doesn’t necessarily mean the London or New York sessions will be the same.

I'm long on USD/JPY. At first glance, it looks like a breakout has occurred on the 5-minute chart, but there are often squeezes, downtrends, and uptrends. In fact, the 1-hour chart is in an uptrend.

Did I cut my USD/JPY long position too late or too early? I think it will still go up, but I won't be pushing it from Monday, so I'll take profits and close it out for now.
