There's a disconnect in the market.

Every single yen pair is down except for UJ and that's reasonable because when futures retreat traders rotate in yen.

So for UJ and the dollar to be strong when the overall market is retreating and there is absolutely no economic data to work with....

It's just kinda silly and is mostly connected with algorithmic trading.

Hi, I dont understand this concept. Why is this connected to algorithmic trading and yes my EA is bearish since this weeks open and what is your bias of UJ now.

Algorithms are probably looking at dual volatility functions of each pair along with support and resistance and dollar strength as an individual currency..

Anyway one of the algorithms I work with will make a bullish call on an individual currency if everything aligns

Since there are multiple conflicts with the overall market structure that's what I'm looking at.

Outside of that though everyone should be very worried about the shit show and volatility that will take place with the data dump when the US government re opens.

In my opinion it's highly likely there's going to be some type of flash crash.

I didn't think about it that way. That's actually useful information. Maybe I should place some limit orders at extreme demand zones.

It's just that USD is stronger than other currencies since there's geopolitical uncertainties with EU, France, Japan's new government etc. The market is looking for safe havens. Probably Euros are being converted to USDs. There's also some profit taking going on in both US equities and Gold, investors cashing in.

But i don't think USD strength will last long. US equities and Gold likely to climb higher once the dust settles.

Agreed. Market is eager to dump their cash into stocks and gold and will look for excuses to do so. Idk about the UJ but any bad data from the US will shoot the gold & equities higher + rate cuts will aggressively get priced in

Finally the red candle needed to short next week will start to short yay for seeing 152! Was my trigger to start looking for good shorts…. Yes a gap and I wasn’t in red all week hyper focused in gap. Still in demo so easier said than done but …. Confluences EVERYWHERE!

Out and about so I'm using my phone.

Something to think about is anytime price makes a major move like this on the weekly chart it makes 100% retracement over 95% of the time the very next week.

That means you could see a correction bringing price back down to 148.

This also closes the gap we had on Sunday.

Gaps close 60-70% of the time.

Play the numbers.

Agree .. this would correlate with the other JPY pairings. Not sure about your 60-70% though .. more like 90-95% given time.
