Man there is no strategy that can give you consistant form of results over the long period of time by just following the "RULES" the markets are dynamic ....After the rate cuts I and many others are looking for weeker dollar and trying to make money from that oppourtunity ...some stratgies might bee good in a barish market and some might be good at bullish market ....but offcourse you can try to find a way that will work " each day , specific time of day , and EVERY DAY and give you CONSISTANT RESUTLY AS 5% (considring you have 100k capital) otherwise if you don't have 100k then and have 50k then you need 10% returns in order to make 5k and if there is some sort of stratagy that gives 10% results in a month then the stratagy will make you a "Millionaire" in 32 months and Billionaire in 8 years 8 months and yes a Billionaire with a B.....

and the fact you don't have 600k to invest it into the us stock market
that can make you your bread then i think you can say THE TRADING IS A SCAM AND IT DOESN't WORK

Hi Dave. Yes, it can be fun, but it can also quickly become addictive. According to my online betting provider's transaction history, I've already placed 1,700 bets this year. I exclusively bet on football matches because I know that pretty well. I don't have a specific system, other than mostly placing high stake bets with lower odds but a high probability of winning. It's been working out pretty well for me. I can't make a living from it, but I've made about 3-4 times what I paid in.

Regarding taxes, all sports bets placed in Germany are taxed at 5% of the stake, regardless of whether they are online or offline. There's nothing in this country that doesn't require tax, and the tax system is one of the most complex in the world. I initially filed my own tax return, but now I have a tax advisor I know do it for me. If you are not already poor, you will be after your tax return. For private individuals, all capital gains are taxed according to capital gains tax (25%) + some more. If I were to become consistently successful with trading, I would probably seriously consider emigrating to Dubai, for example. The weather there is also better.

I don't think in stereotypes. I do whatever I like. I'm also good at distinguishing reckless gambling on tilt from a more professional approach, just as I am with trading

Regarding to prop firms. I see this as an opportunity to gain more capital for trading, but I also see the disadvantages.

Respectfully I completely disagree as there are strategies that can give you consistent results longterm by simply following mechanical rules. Financial institutions wouldn't invest in a net losing industry so there is profit to be made in the markets else there would be no successful retail traders. The price changes in terms of price movement but the market's general behavior stays same which is why the market can be predicted.

There are traders that trade discretionarily such as PA traders and they are successful in trading pretty much any market condition. There are mechanical objective traders like myself that trade the same one setup based on rules which I will detail below. The key to consistent profits for me has been to trade when both buyers and sellers agree in the direction of price.

All too often traders lose because they long with buyers when sellers disagree and push price the opposite direction or traders short when buyers disagree. It is best to trade when both buyers and sellers mostly agree that price will move in a particular direction

Most answers on here are being very vague so I will be very specific and will also give my trading rules, the pros and the cons. I think people trade their own personalities. My personality is that I absolutely hate losing so the system I trade is set up to find the highest probability trade. These setups are extremely accurate because both buyers and sellers(at least the ones that matter) are on my side in agreement as to where value and price direction is. It will make sense when you read the rules below.

The con is low frequency. I only get 3 to 6 setups a week sometimes more sometimes less. If I use only daily pivots as the main targets I tend to get 2 to 5 trades a week. If I use daily, pivots weekly pivots or monthly setups as main targets I can get more setups but I dont like waiting for a weekly or monthly set up to come form and last for days or weeks so I usually just look for daily setups. Here are the rules for the exact setup and the explanation of each rule so you understand the logic which is rooted in Nobel prize winning auction theory(not the bastardization and misrepresentation of auction theory that you see online). Im sharing all of this for free btw. I never sell products or ask for anything in return and I never will .

The rules below are based on using the weekly pivots as targets but I apply these same rules using daily pivots as targets or monthly pivots as targets as well. I am currently making a video series with detailed explanation with templates and indicators for download all free. Ill post the link to that in a few days. :

The logic and ideology is too compelling to deny. Best times to trade after big moves so naturally beginning of London session, beginning of US session, or after news releases etc. Trade this and you will be profitable. Accuracy and patience is needed though but it is such an easy system since scanner scans the preliminary rules for you and you can trade it in conjunction with your other strategies as you wait for setups. I can post current daily pivot trades I am in if you want. Hope this helps. I'll post the video series in a few days just putting final touches on it. Wish you green pips

For a long while my partner was earning a decent income, so things weren't that pressurised. Now I'm the sole breadwinner, and the response is

  1. tightened risk management.

which means lower income with increased predictability.

What resources, tools, or routines have been game-changers for you?

What stands in the way of trading success for many, it seems to me, is some version of wishful thinking. Hope is not helpful, and what you don't know can kill you.

Early on I read a book called The Art and Science of Technical Analysis by Adam Grimes, which helped me to really think for myself instead of listening to supposed authorities.

I also learned that it's essential not to make things too complicated, nor too simple. Impressive models and methods may be very alluring, but they usually only work some of the time. Another way of putting this would be to say that your approach needs to be statistically robust, which means that your method works even if your underlying assumptions prove not to be valid.

Also, I know a chap who suddenly found himself without a job or income, but with a family to support. He started doing courier/driver work to feed the family while learning to trade. In less than a year, trading was his only and generous income. So it's fully possible.

IMHO first make at least 100K and build the account from there.
I woulnd't focus so much on the word "consistant".
Better "survive" the average daily trading process (only if there are serious opportunities).

As an active options buyer/trader it's crucial to watch the market and spot volatility opportunities and recognize when the market will move "a lot."
In these moments/days you can bank huge and the risk:reward is gigantic.

Or trade some really good moving/exploding stocks, there are tons of opportunities every day, in both directions.

If you got your edge in one or two markets, it's only a time before your gains "explode".

I personally wouldn't start with forex anymore, there are far better markets out there.

Agree. Since beginning of August, I’m trading a pure systematic Opening Range Breakout EA on 5 stock indices but so far it doesn’t seam to deliver the necessary results.

I was very surprised to get 3 likes for my off topic view of Sports Betting
So I thought I would just add my bit of logic to my rational of why I like it
Football should be a very simple game to play
I say should be with tongue in cheek
The object of the game is to WIN and although this is not always possible, its the objective
Now to win you must be able to score a goal and in most cases more than the other team
So to me it makes more sense to forget about trying to find the actual winner of the game
But just find the matches that a goal or more can be at least be scored.
Now with the advance of online Bookies they are creating more and more markets
This gives us a chance to play this market
Now I except the odds are poor but with a little luck if you put enough teams together, you can get
better odds maybe be even money
Just take a look back at past results to find
How many 0:0 results there are, the only result that beats us
After 1700 bets you show a fair profit and you are mostly backing shorties any way
Just a bit of light relief from all
the prop and tricky trading talk

I also like to place over-under bets. The majority of my sports bets are also live bets. As I said, a bit off-topic, as this is a trading topic. Anyhow, here's my history for September
