Rob. Now this is a good start seeing we are going into collaborative mode. Yes, your strategy can work if we are in ranging mode, whether hourly, daily or weekly mode. Sell the highs buy the lows and you offset buys vs sells; the problem comes with the breakout range when your buys become higher than your sells when the market sells off or vice versa. Not KPMG had a similar strategy and even posted an EA which I followed on demo for a while, and the same conclusion is good in ranging markets but poor in trending markets. If you have a backup Strat from ranging to trending markets, then please share because I have not come across such.
