GBPUSD UPDATE

Uptrend has fully resumed with the breakout of Previous Swing High.

Retracement is expected from 1.37 back to Equilibrium/Killing Range for Buyers to come in again.

what goes up must come down for GU.

expecting some pullback. It could be small or bigger pullback.

then look for setups.

This was an Ichimoku Y wave on the daily that broke out. I had measured the wave before and have marked some targets. Possibly something called an E wave but let's see.

I think people are underestimating foreign countries desire to get away from the dollar system. It's just a shame I can't seem to trade it. Even though I know the dollar is going to go down in the long term, in the short term all I see is a 350+ pip mov in one direction in 3 days without any meaningful pullback, so I'm just thinking "Surely it'll retrace" but people want out of the dollar system soooo bad that they will take any price.

As I said yesterday, this isn't institutions selling dollars in order to buy them back and pocket the difference. This is institutions selling dollars (what they don't want) for other things they do want. So there aren't actually positions to close. Hence, little to no pullback.

This is more to do with the weaponisation of the dollar. The sanctions on Russia and confiscation of its assets has caused a lot of distrust. A lot of countries saw that and thought "Well, if we do something the USA doesn't like, that could be us, so I better get my assets out or sell them."

70% of the worlds population is in Asia, so that's where the trade and investment is heading. Shanghai is becoming the #1 place of gold now and I even saw a Bloomberg report (so it's even hitting the mainstream now) quoting oil importers in the US stating that the exporters in the Middle East and Asia are now preferring to sell their oil in other currencies, even preferring the Euro to the dollar.

This isn't merely and Israel/Iran or tariff thing. This is the consequence of long standing US policy regarding the dollar. Just wait until the dollars fall gets disorderly.

In a few years, think within the next decade, the US will have turned into how the UK became after WWI and WWII, where we needed bailouts by the IMF. The problem for the US is that there isn't anyone who can bail them out. Americans are going to have to get used to a substantial reduction in their quality of life.
