oil was rocketing up through $75.90


and the DOW ? - hurtling up too in parallel AT THE SAME TIME !

Fundamentals are there to explain rigged movements when it's convenient and of no use at any other time...

So far this year Cable have been too easy to trade. The market has been generously depositing some money on almost every dummy's account. There should be a withdrawal time to come up rather sooner than later this year when the market takes the loan back. With some hefty interest of course. I wouldn't even bother with considering longs untill the gap at 1.9745 is filled. In fact, I wouldn't bother with medium term longs at all till the following New Year's eve.
When was this ? I looked back to last time cable was at this price on friday 6/15/07 and then the sunday 6/17/07 open and found nothing.

Do not mix "fundamental" with "economical data release"... Consumer sentiment is a minor data compared to the risk aversion triggered by the lousy housing. The HOUSING is the prevailing fundamentals here for a long time. And now, the sentiment is that housing problems will (would, could, can, may, might) spillover via subprime lenders. Expect further bumpy rides.

GDP came out mixed and besides, it is not a big time mover when it does not come with strong deviation. GDP is usually traded beforehand by the previous releases...

i found the gap... 4pips gap only... maybe not that significant

Well depending on the data being looked at a small gap (few pips) can be found most any day. I use TradeStation and there is no gap (anysize) down to as low as 5min timeframe. Going all the way down to 1min there are a few open gaps each a couple of pips wide. Again happens most every trading day.

Not something I will lose sleep over or bet my whole trading account on.

It is right there. And the next one is at 1.7510-20. Will also be filled this year.
