it took me over a decade to simplify my thinking and charts

I started in late 1990's doing the shit all beginners do trading the way books said I ought to with indicators and trend lines and fibs and pivots...i felt like the more was on my chart the better id be LOL

after blowing up my 3rd or 4th account which back then was 10k minimum for futures trading I started wondering why I still failed doing what the book authors said ...i even spent 200 dollars on raschkes street smarts book...i thought at that price for a book it had to hold the holy grail of trading inside its covers LOL...its still 175 on amazon but you can download in pdf form for free now LOL...and it was just pure crap

so I started wondering how jesse livermore and other old timers a 100 years ago made fortunes trading drawing their own charts every night on their kitchen tables using the previous days stock prices printed in newspapers since they didn't have computers ...and it occurred to me they just used price and nothing else...

and it was from then on I started to have some success

so I don't even bother looking at peoples charts or even reading their posts if they use all kinds of bullshit on their charts like coreg for exampls

he uses ewave,fibs, harmonics,trendlines and even astrology I bet since he quotes wd gann on his profile page LOL...if you draw enough lines and counts price is bound to hit and bounce off one LOL

so with all that useless info of course he's not gonna commit and post a trade cause he's all about appearance....he just likes drawing pretty charts that don't have a basis in reality and that's why he give lame ass analysis that he used to edit most days hours after the fact but slowed that down after I told everyone he was doing so...go back weeks or months ago and you'll see how many posts with charts in them he used to edit LOL

other people to be wary of are the ones like bones that talk gibberish and make no sense stating his analysis...or foreigners with english as their second language sounding like they were harvard english professors cause they use apps like Grammarly and don't know its suspicious as hell to speak with perfect grammar on an informal chat site LOL

or the people that post winning trade screenshots 20 ,40 ,90 minutes after taking their trade cause it went in their direction but they never post the screenshot in real time as soon as they made the entry or a screenshot that lost money LOL

and don't get me started on the photoshopped charts

there's more charlatans you'll have to sidestep and avoid but you can spot the real traders cause they post their entries in realtime whether they're right or wrong and have to endure the shitheads taunts that never post theirs

Holy shit.......similarities of our trading experiences are uncanny, I started in 1991

CME trying to trade commodities, was like trying to trade against the mob

I estimated that I'm pretty sure I broke even this year

I'm a skilled laborer, my body has made a living for my family but is worn out.......thank Goodness I'm able to make money now with my "never give up" tenacity trading currencies. For me it all started in 1995 "The Money Tree" Larry Williams after I got the shit kicked out of me for 4 long years at the CME

in 1991 you must have leased a seat on the CME...i was saving up for that but online brokers reared their head and I went with interactivebrokers

If you started way back then did you chat on avidtrader site...its out of business now

i still hang out at activetraders on irc...its a welcome respite to visit and be with fellow Americans on there and argue politics after the close every day LOL

Were you doing all that TA manually back then?
I remember 386 computers were top of the line. I paid $2400 for a 286 cause I couldn't afford the latest and I still had to use DOS. No charting programs back then. Unless when you say 1990's you mean late 1990's and even then there wasn't all that much around.

I don't remember what kind of computer I had just a desktop but there was datek and the soes bandits on stocks in mid 90's when all those ECN's started upand there were charting programs like qcharts in 1999 that I used since esignal was so much more expensive and clicked the buy/sell button on IB shit charting platform LOL

omega research had tradestation charts in 90's to hook up to IB brokerage think u could program tradeststion with all kinds of personal code ...anything was better than interactivebrokers charts

I just used charts with indicators until I wised up and got rid of indicators for good LOL
