Obviously you have not read all Big E posts on how to scalp. He would not trade the 5-minute against TMS' 4Hr Price Action.
His explanation was very simple, you wont get any 5R to 9R trade profits when you scalp against the 4Hr Price Action.

Always scalp in the direction of the 4Hr because it run 3 to 8 candles.

To learn what Trading Made Simple is, you have to follow the trading journey of the OP eelfranz aka Big E. He started as a newbie in 2008. Know the history and you will learn a lot from the OP and when you have mastered the 5-Method, you can then move on and develop your own trading system following how he did his. eelfranz made the jump to this new Trading Made Simple thread on 26 April 2011... Post#4432

In Post#1, he explained how he traded the H4 chart timeframe and he also traded the H1 chart during the NY session. This suited his lifestyle being retired and the time zone he lived. Sadly he passed away in Oct 2012.

Two very important posts: Post#261 and Post#647, give a simple summary of what this 5-Method is and the basic forex stuff we check before we look for the TDI setups to trade.

When you are overwhelmed (information overload) by the number of posts and the loads of information and variations shared by other traders here, the best thing to do is to stop reading and go back to the basics what Big E mentioned in his 463 posts in this thread and 861 posts in the CHS thread. First you learn and master the 5-Method first before you start add your own tweaks and make a new system.

Recommendations:
Read all of Big E posts... 861posts in the Craig Harris Stochastics thread and 463 posts in this TMS thread....and make notes on those training charts he posted. Pay attention whenever he mentioned PA and what you see on his training charts.

Post #647 Learn the basic stuff about forex trading first. A good place to start is www.babypips.com/school

If you want to trade the way Big E described in Post#1, make sure you use his template , the Synergy APB / HA candles and use that TDI Red Green version. These are in Post#25.

Important to Note that the TDI Red Green version repaints all the bars in history so you cannot use this when you do back-testing by scrolling back your charts. The better way is to run this in live market and trade the TMS setups based on what you see without refreshing your charts. When you want to trade with entries on the APB#1 and APB#2 candles, always wait for the price bar/candle to close and use the TDI to confirm the setup.

Big E was a rules-based discretionary trader. According to studies by Dr Van K Tharp this rule-based discretionary are the best traders,

You can use ForexTester 4.0 software. Many members here use that.

I developed my own MT4 tester with different input parameters for example setup entries and exits conditions, different risk to reward, ...

People ask how to trade TMS method in ranging market. Others ask how to confirm when price is in range.

TMS traders do not predict the market. Using Previous Highs and Lows as the TMS price action, we trade the TMS setups until confirming the market going into range, as price lose trend and momentum

Buying at dip and selling at tops as the price range narrowing, traders have much room to manage the positions.

Hi Emmanuel,

How many time you and I have keep telling traders here, BigE's TMS method is not blindly trading any TDI signals.

The TMS_V19 tool you use, the first things it looks is the TDI. It does not take account into other Price Actions from the TMS method.

If you use the tool that blindly gives signals with TDI as first priority, you will end up losing.

I hope this shows you the reason why BigE repeatedly mentioned about the TMS entry rules.

No HA color change, another day, even higher price. The upward swing has not confirmed to end yet, so you still cannot determine the swing high yet.

TMS_V19 technical analysis has many features to make your trade pre-planning a lot easier and has most of the Price Action elements mentioned in post #647 included ... its All-In-One MT4 chart template.
The Basics of TMS 5-Method in post #261 are fully incorporated.

For those who trade multiple pairs, MT4 version TMS_V19 in your PC will send you alerts for all selected timeframes - M15, M30, H1, H4 ... and you do not need to have all timeframes charts open. Do not lead the other traders into your rabbit hole of averaging down... You will lead them into blowing accounts like what you did in the past few years...

You said it yourself, you suffered huge drawdown once to twice a year... And you showed us how bad this can be doing average down trading. You buy at top, hold and add to the losing buy positions, and averaged down for over 2 weeks.
