That is certainly true. However, the interest rate of the US dollar is still higher than that of the Japanese yen, so I think the value of the US dollar will basically win.

i truly doubt the fed would make any major move before us presidential election...
however, since the democrat would likely to win, so us interest rate cut will be minimal probably around 1-1.5 percent tops.
until the next presidential us election is over, the market will be volatile, but ranging
so the best time to make money in USD JPY as long you enter at the extreme range.
i just go long on USDJPY ata 142.12 with a hard stoploss if the market breaks 141.50 target short term: 142.60

USDJPY price action on the daily time frame is bearish. Price action has broken down a long-term rising channel (purple) and it is retesting the 140.820 horizontal support which has been in place since December 2023. We cannot rule out further bearish move in the early part of this week, perhaps to retest a value area such as the 138.400 intra-day horizontal support before a significant bullish pushback.

I may be wrong. Trade safe and prosper.

If I'm right USD/JPY is heading to 135 - 134. So around 800 pips drop from here. We'll see...

This is IF the .25 cut is in. I am thinking that possibly the same. But he could actually put in the .50 then we will probably bounce.

I would like to see the bounce you speak of since I bought at 140.500. My SL is sitting right below it at 140.300. My TP is at 143.500.

Dollar Futures are back at the bottom. This could come crashing down through the low today or next week. ES500 is shooting up. Unless today's news reverses it I may have to wait another 6 to 8 months for my 170 area.

I am new to trading could anyone tell me if this is a valid trade to enter once market opens again after this weekend? I was thinking it would rise and hit previous highs but i am slightly worried it may end up doing the opposite first then go up.

judging by the pullback after reaching new high for the week, my prediction would be:
it would go down first to find the first support and then it would go on consolidating, and then it would try to break the high from previous week
so I would be looking to buy USDJPY this week.

But if the price suddenly shoot up and try to touch previous' week high, I would short with a cut loss if the daily close can close above the previous week high...
but overall USD JPY is definitely still in bearish territory, and would probably try to test the cluster of supports around 137.

I am betting that USD JPY would go up first trying to reach 147-149 before continuing its descent towards 137-138
