I like to enter trades (if its not a reversal) around the daily poc, if there is a weekly poc (Right ones) close by its extra nice. Yeah try to aim at least for the next weekly poc. But depends on the whole picture a bit.. taking profit is not my forte and kind of personal I guess.

The last two weeks have been crazy..

Last week I took some losses and ended the week with -5R, plus I took a few more losses on Monday putting my total at -8R.

But I'm finally starting to be able to close some of my winning trades (winning trades don't count until they're closed, right?) which most of them have been around 3.5R-4R. I've closed 3 so far and just have one trade left.

The point of my post is all you can do when you're getting beat up is to keep going, things can shift very quickly in trading.

Fair Value Gaps (a.k.a. HiddenGAPs) are good. One thing I have consistently stated over the years is the simple notion of " What you want to see, where you want to see it.". One can easily make a case as to why one would want to see VSA signs of strength or weakness (professional activity or lack there of) in an area where there was previously lots of professional activity (volume = activity). Hence, applying the Trigger Number Matrix, by "Fibbing" the most recent highest volume bar, makes logical sense.

The case for Fair Value Gaps (as espoused by ICT) is a bit more complex, but no less logical.

I have moved on to different platform , but still actively smashing it every day. Now funded are here its easier to build wealth than every before.

hey mate .. 90% of my trade are 1 to 1.

its all depends on the quality of the set up . Sequential vsa at historical volume pocs are the best (stopping volume followed by shale out followed by no supply) , require a 30 to 40 point wiggle room on NQ as i trade with buy stops above bars highs for buys , and sell stops under bars low for sells off a 2 or 3 min chart . I go for ONLY 40 nq points a day , across 10 funded, so initial stops are circa 30 to 40 . Then as trade works I move them to break even quickly.

40 points a day x 1 mini nq , x 10 trades a month x 10 funded is 1.2 m green ones er year .

small loss is due to the absorption supply coming in on way up . When you see massive volumes kicking in on an UP move , wait patiently for the distribution phase , something like supply entering , following by no demand , sell under that distribution for the down move. This happened last Wednesday on NQ in US session . Tons of weakness on way up , but went down sharply 150 points.

I agree that they are hidden gaps, I use the 5 min chart to signal de hidden gaps or fvg

But I'm struggling with the entries, the way I do it is to find inside the fvg sign of weakness or strength.

Let say I want to go long

1 first a need to see hh-hl on the 1 min chart
2 then a pullback on a fvg of the the 5 min chart
3 signs of strength on the 1 min chart
4 then price needs to close a ove the last sign of strength
5 then a test of the sign of strength - like no supply - test or shakeout to enter the trade

The problem that I'm having is with then entry in particular with the retest which very few times happen
And what I often see is the first 4 steps and then price taking off without retesting.

Why I wait for the retest, because in this thread that the entry signals like no supply - shakeout - test need to be testing on an area of volume on this case the sign of strength

Any help would be appreciated from anyone

Then yesterday I was finally able to close out a win on GBPCAD. 4.6:1RR

On GCad I entered off the high volume close from the bar during London session, that London bar pushed price up and through the high of a super wide down bar from Oct 4th.

It might behoove you to go back over the FVG material. I believe ICT would say that price needs to come back into the FVG to "rebalance". Therefore, if price is "rebalanced" on the first time, there wouldn't be a need for a second time. In other words, there would be no retest because the first touch accomplished all that was needed.

Post a couple of examples and let's see if we can identify the SOSs or SOWs as price rockets out of the FVGs.

VSA can be as simple or complicated as you like, but simple works best.

You can get away with just spending 20-30 minutes a day setting VSA trades and walking away. No need to let charts control your life.

Depending on the markets you follow, and or, the amount of markets you follow, you can go a day or two and not have any trades. Day trading does not necessarily mean every day trading.

I have not posted a chart because, I'm simplyfing even further.

I have removed the hidden gap or fvg zones. That is why I have not posted a chart.

I'm trading with the trend on pullbacks that end on high volume and the next candle is confirmed.

For the background on tip of trading with the trend I'm looking for big candles that are confirmed on the next candle.

I will post a chart later and ask someone questions about the confirmation and the web candles themselves

The late Bruce Babcock used to argue that the retail trader's entire edge was based on the fact that markets trend.

It hard for some people to understand that Volume Spread Analysis (VSA) is best used to trade in the direction of the trend. Even though VSA picks up changes in the Supply/Demand Dynamic at tops and bottoms, the best place to be trading is when/where the new trend has established itself.

There are many indicator and non-indictor ways to define a trend. I keep coming back to the notion of Time Frame Continuity (TFC). When the Weekly, Daily, and 1 Hour are al above or below their respective opens, there is TFC and one would trade in that direction in conjunction with trading above or below HB (50%) of the Trigger Number Matrix (TNM)

This really is an interesting idea that I'd like to explore. I always liked how in trading people refer to their knowledge as a toolbox, its always helpful to add another tool to the box.

I've tweaked my setups to not only the highest volume on the high/low of the day, but also to also include highest volume bars where only the high or low have been breached.
