This one sure is going to be fireworks. So much hangs on it, way more than any NFP the last 12 months (which considering how volatile NFP used to be, it's been very calm). Expecting a lot of whipsaw and likely negative data to add to the latest collection. Think it will take market a while to figure it out and digest what to do with it.

Headland has a good strategy for trading the news.
He said in a post he watches the 1 minute chart and will take a trade on the 3rd minute.
Slippage and spread are a killer on high impact data news but by the 3rd minutes things have calmed down a bit

Correct. But unfortunately, (not unfortunately ) I have a life outside trading, and that will be 9:30pm for me. I only strictly trade between 9am to 6pm Tokyo time. No opportunity then... No worries

Absolutely re slippage and spreads going bat-shit. Like shoving your arm in a meat grinder on purpose. If you can't use wide stops then just don't do it and pray the volatility calms down sooner rather than later. Those spreads will eat you alive otherwise.
