Bigger effect on GBP is ok, no effect on DXY is sus though. See the difference?

EURUSD also fell nicely after the UK CPI. Generally news that help GU also helps EU. The correlation between the EU and GU fell significantly today, which indicates that UK CPI shoot up was nothing but a HFT manipulation and numbers actually did disappoint.

And now price ate up that UK CPI news spike, d1 is back to where it started.

Have i told that UK CPI was weak earlier today? Hell yeah.

alright, i'll put it like this, seeing as CPI was today:
the 'basket of goods' used to calculate CPI contains cigarettes, in the UK, the price of one pack of marlboro reds went from ~£11 to ~£16 in a few months, roughly a 45% increase in price. was CPI 45% a few months ago? no, because CPI is consumer price index, not cigarette price index - sure, it would have had an effect on CPI, but a negligible one, seeing as it is only one component. it's the same with DXY, which is essentially a 'basket of currencies', a change in the price of the pound due to news is much more drastic on the GBPUSD chart, since you are JUST looking at GBP against USD, however the DXY looks at 6 (weighted) currencies, with GBP only being 12% - hence why a big change in GBP doesn't result in an equally big change in DXY

now i'm hoping zebi will get it this time, but most likely it will go in one ear and out the other, then next month he will come here with the same shit, 'LOL look how weak GBP is! barely moved the dollar index! LOL!!!'
